Makes perfect sense, play And watch.
Incidentlly, why such a late start? All comps at my old club started at 7.30 in the summer

All the ladies Sunday comps start after 12, probably historical going back to when ladies weren't allowed on the course before 12 on a Sunday, also the are often men's comps on Sunday Mornings.

if the ladies are happy with that then fair enough but times have changed and that would cause utter uproar in our ladies section (they get the same times we do for comps pretty much nowadays)

as for the above situ if you can do both then change the comp and do so, if you cant then for me id watch the open, plenty of other comps

Play early then watch. If I can't play early, then I'd watch. And if it turns out to be a procession like Koepka's US Open win, or to be a 'titanic' tussle between 2 bang average Americans, then I'd go and play.

Three appearances in my lifetime, 61, 63 & 69 (don't remember any of them) with another appearance in 49, unfortunately we lost them all...
