I got hacked on Friday from my Booking.com account and someone purchased a nice 7 day holiday using my card. £2.5K. Make sure you have every passcodes in place!!!!

Did you have your card details saved in their site? they must have had access to your 3 digit security code also. Sounds to me more like you card got scammed and they used booking.com.
Assume you will get it back, its a pain but... Still never sure how and why people try and scam by booking flights or holidays though? where you need to have passport numbers, real names etc! Police wont give a monkies either. they dont have the time!

General rule of thumb, don't save you bank/credit card details on websites you purchase stuff from.

Hmmmmm, lesson learnt. Cards have been removed everywhere now.

I know it saves time on regularly used sites, but for a few extra mins typing, it's worth the peace of mind, or use Paypal.

Also, if you hand your card over for a purchase, don't let them walk off with it to the card machine. Either go with them or get them to bring the card machine to you. If they look at the back of the card, and you're not signing a payment slip - old style, the only thing of interest to them is the 3 digit code.

Looks as though it was used in Manchester by a Russian! I've not been near one for months and the other, never.
