So as not to gate crash the hockey thread

I asked my son if he'd seen the walking football as I felt that I could manage a game of it now I'm marginally too old for trials at Man City

He just took the pee!

Anyone tried it or seen it?

saw a taster session advertised at lads training up here next week organised by YC foundation over 50's only first I'd heard of it but like the idea.

I still have a kickaround with my 9 year old grandson.
I show him how tackles were made in the 1960's ala Chopper Harris and Dave Mackay.
He shows me the Ronaldo shuffle.

I really like the concept of Walking Fitba.

never heard of it! sounds a right non starter

What next?

Zimmer rugby?

I suppose if it keeps the pensioners from hanging around street corners till all hours, harrasing passers by and getting up to all sorts it's got to be a good thing.

I only heard of this the other week when a mate of mine told me his dad had tried it after a big of nagging from his wife to get fit.

Poor bugger had someone land on him and broke his leg!

True story.

I was primarily a centre back years ago, so I used to just walk, kick someone and walk back, so I'd be able to do that now I reckon !

The bloke who sits next to me at St Marys has started playing it. Says its still very 'competitive', albeit at a lower speed! I think by competitive he means dirty...

I really must try it then, I'm sure my metal bits could cause some damage especially if I sharpen the edges with a grinder! Like a human James Bond car!
