Excellent programme just finished on BBC1. Anyone else watch it? Absolutely nothing of her, but what an athlete!!

A little bit emotionally scared? Relationship with father not helpful? Relationship with team mate not handled well by rest of team. Hope she does the bizzo in London, as I think she is fantastic, but I also hope that what ever happens, she remains happy in her relationship. Interesting programme.

I watched it thinking I'd despair at her emotional whining but actually warmed to her. She is a complex character for sure but an awesome athlete and hope she thrashes the Aussie and wins gold then retires and is happy.

I thought it was the best thing that I had watched in ages. The mental side of sport has intrigued me for some time and it was amazing to find someone, so insecure in many ways, being so strong willed as to win world and Olympic titles

I agree about the whining but her honesty shone through and got reall absorbed by her. I couldn't see why her relationship with one or her "team" was allowed to become such a problem.

Lots of interesting background (relationship, father etc) but she is a great competitor and hope the pressure doesnt impede her. On a similar note did anyone see the programme on Usain Bolt. He came across as a really solid and humble person and I warmed to him. Hope he does the business

I saw the programme on Bolt, I had thought that he was one of the biggest favourites in the competition but having watched his recent races on the programme I've got serious doubts.

He just wasn't flowing.

When he was totally dominant he looked so effortless and everything was in perfect synchronisation as he purred along the track, in those recent races he looked awkward and gangly, every stride looked like a battle.

I couldn't understand that either, I would of thought that it would help cement the team even more.

Yeah, I watched that as well and an equally interesting programme.
Usain Bolt is just an awesome running machine.
Loved the way he accepted his DQ in that final - bitterly disappointed but did not throw his toys like some would.
Can't see anyone getting anywhere near him (as long as he's in good shape) and expect another world record, weather permitting of course.
