My lad's got problems with his motor and hasn't a clue where to take it - and none of his mates have a car. Any suggestions from anyone who knows the area?

I'm thinking of sending him to Swift Fit Autocentre up Sheffield Lane Top (just off A6135) as it's 5mins drive from him and he could easy walk home from it. But any suggestions in that area would be much appreciated.

I think you’ll probably need to give greater detail on make, model, issue etc.
No good someone recommending a diagnostic specialist if the issue is a wobbly steering wheel;)

The clutch. He's only been driving the car about 6weeks but is not used to doing manual hill starts with a handbrake, as his driving instructors car had an automatic 'handbrake' - and he didn't practice outside of lessons. Living in Sheffield you have to do a lot, and I mean a lot, of hill starts. I think he's just burned it out.

Anyway - the AA guy said that the garage I've been in touch with are good to go with so he'll just do that.

Sssh yeah, terrible city for hills & congestion. Hope he gets it sorted easily as there's enough transport frustrations for young'ns without endless maintenance issues.
