Even if you have been married for as long as me what harm is there in sending a card if it makes her feel good? It also means that she won't moan about me going to the Amex Stadium tonight to watch the Seagulls put one over that lot from the New Den!

My plane didn't land last night until 9pm so got home for about 10pm with a card, bottle of Pol Roger (pink), two pressies - Chanel red lip gloss and Chanel mascara.

My gorgeous wife was already in bed in Agent Provocateur undies. Champagne was lovely and she loved her presents. Had a lovely night!

My wife and I do not do anything on Valentines Day and haven't valued it for many years. We have been married for 20 years this year and say that we love each other every day, often go out for a meal together alone, I often buy her impromptu gifts flowers etc.

What is it that's romantic about going out for a meal on a day when every restaurant will be full, so not intimate. Giving each other a card to say I Love You, or a gift when prices are raised for the commercial benefit.

IMO, the day exists primarily for men to make an effort and women to feel special, one day a year with forced token gestures.

I agree with you it is every day that counts, they are all special days to us.
