Got my V-easy in the post today (Are you hearing Bob)..
Besides Bob & the forum boys going ga-ga over it, the reason for getting it was when it was recommended by another user. When my putting my going nowhere at the Lee Westwood day, Ian pulled the V-easy out of his bag and showed me how to do it.

Anyways, now that I have it. I tried to use it for some carpet putting. I must say, I found it very restrictive. I need to bend a lot more than I normally do. Very uncomfortable etc. I am sure I am doing something wrong. Is there a better (or a user) video than that available on FaceTube?

Bob.. where r u? (BTW, I think the simplicity of the product is its brilliance.. well done)

Congratulations on your purchase! Now rock them shoulders and feel firm wrists with no tension anywhere!

Have you seen the demo by Gary Wolstenholme? I think its on Youtube as well as the V Easy site. I think thats all there is. I do not get the feeling of having to crouch however.

One more thing that I have learnt (the hard way!). If your ball position is wrong, no V Easy in the world will help. In an attempt to get my hands slightly ahead, I cheated and moved the ball back in my stance, leading to a decending strike.

I am sure that it will help you.

When i first got mine i had all the same issues. It was all my stance and setup being wrong. First take ano athletic stance, push your wrists out slightly against the v easy. It will feel like the ball is not under your eyes but thats ok. Standing tall and having ur arms correct brings the ball back to where it should be without you being cramped and hunched. Your putter head will feel like it comes a little on the inside and opens up but thats just the correct swing plane as you begin to use your big back muscles to putt instead of your hands.

I found my hands got in the way of the V Easy as if there wasnt room for them as i gripped the putter ?

Maybe my set up was wrong ?

I need to bend a lot more than I normally do

I suspect when putting you bend your arms at the elbows (gull winging)
Try standing a bit taller and extend your arms more, not locked at the elbows, just straighter, and feel the upper arms holding the V-Easy into your body. Hope that helps.

You may have big hands. If so, slide the hinge of the V-Easy down the putter shaft a few inches. That should give your hands more room.

Thanks Bob i will give that a try

Bob,.. looks like there is a need for a dummies guide to V-easy. eg.
1) How much pressure do I put to hold the V-easy between my arms and body.
2) How high should the v-easy go into the body i.e. should it go thru the armpits or near the biceps etc
3) Where does the putter sit on the v-easy...just below the grip, further down etc etc.

BTW, does the v-easy promote a in-out swing or straight thru?

You are using it the right way around aren't you? <WINK>
I slept with the v-easy.. it made a tent in the duvet.. mrs was impressed ;)

I found out the correct stance by just trying until something felt comfortable with the V-Easy and also allowed me to putt with my big back muscles.

As Bob said, moving away from gull winging and becoming more athletic. When things are wrong it usually feels wrong in the V-Easy, when they are right it feels right. Its the beauty of such a simple tool at such a low cost, its more than meets the eye!
Once I got my stroke sorted it just took me to stop over reading greens (thanks midnight) and then just getting the stroke repetative under pressure (lots of practice) and it works.

Recently while chatting to the guys at my driving range they commented that they expected me to score at least fairly well in the championship as I was the person who spent the most time putting and chipping relative to full shots on the range.

All the instrutions are on the box unless you bought a copy off Ebay.
They're also on the website in the "how to use" section.

Neither, just a natural arc

I find it hard to understand you saying you are crouching over the ball. How tall are you? I am 6'3 and I find the V-easy very natural and it has improved my putter woes 10 fold. I had the luxury though of having Bob show me one on one how to use it, so maybe that made things a little bit clearer. But that video on the site explains how to use it in very simple terms.

Like has already been said......stand up straight, loose those gull wing arms and and just rock them shoulders...

I am 5'11.. but i guess I need to relook it again. Mind you I have just spent 10 mins with it so far (it arrived yesterday). Have kept the box & will relook at the video.

I had a gull wing and a very inconsistent swing. I guess all my trouble is coz I have to change my swing. Painful, but fruitful.

BTW Bob, must say, the idea of putting magnets at the end of the legs is sheer genius. (speaking with my engineer's hat)

funny u should say that..
When i first saw it, my immediate reaction was.. 'Why dont the 2 sticks seperate and therefore be used as a pair of alignment sticks??'

Bob.. I have a very fundamental question...

When I rest the putter behind the ball. Should the putter be in a fully resting position i.e. flat on the ground or would it be resting on its heel - with its toe v slightly in the air. That kind of dictates where the shaft of the putter is and therefore where my hands would be

Ideally the putter should sit flat on the green, but many good putters have the toe up a little.
Check your set up from down the line, the upper arms will be against the body and an angle formed between upper and lower arms. I like to see no angle from the lower arms into putter shaft

The recent GM mag had a thing on putting stance, if you follow its advice it should help. Its less about where the putter head is and more about where your hands are. They are sort of pushed out, against the V-Easy with the elbows in. The arms do not hang straight down, go read the mag, it explains it better.
