Using line on ball for putting?

I use the makers logo or line on the ball to line up puts.

As stated by some. It doesn't take too long as I just mark, line it up, step back, one check, stand up and hit it.

If when I look down the line I think its aiming slightly off I adjust the putter behind the ball then hit it. I don't adjust the ball again.

I draw a line on my balls and use it, my eye dominance is all over the place, so when i stand up to take the putt, it looks wrong, but you have to trust what you lined up from behind. It does not slow down mine or my groups pace of play.

I draw a black line on the ball, over the manufacturers line, so it goes approx half way round the circumference of the ball.

Pick my line, then aim the ball (using the black line) at a mark on the green somewhere between 1 and 3 feet in front of the ball.

Also have a line on the top of my putter (Odysey 2 ball), to extend the 'line' to three points (mark on green, line on ball, line on top of putter).

Concentrate on taking the putter back in a straight line and trust my distance control.

Most of the time it gets me somewhere near the hole...........

Re the eye dominance thing.

I am right handed, so tend to use my right hand to replace ball and line up along intended path using big black line.
However in my first putting lesson last week with new pro, he pointed out that I am left eye dominant, so using my left hand would give me a better alignment.

Exactly the same here, apart from the shooting.

No, I don't currently use a line on the ball to putt, but I'm open to trying it if it helps me to improve.

i have used a line for over 20 years,it is simple to do ,look at the line you intend to hit the ball ,line up the line on the ball along that line, line the putter with the line on the ball and hit the ball,WHAT could be simpler or quicker.
The alternative is to NOT look at the put from all angles and just hit and hope!!

I've done it for years. Though a putt might look different stood over it, you truly get a better view when crouched behind the ball so its a case of trusting your original judgement and getting the pace right.

i have a variety of lines - two either side of the main line. outside of 4 ft i'm not sure its much use, but when you're holing out from inside 4ft i find it encouraging that i know its lined up straight to the hole and i just need to move the putter through the line and it'll be in the hole

Always use the manufacturers line to line up with the line I think when putting my ball back down but will normally make adjustments when I stand over the ball!

Most balls come with an alignment line on them these days. I don't use it. I did but I found myself spending more time worrying if the line was lined up correctly and not thinking about line, pace and break as intently as I needed

I think I'd be like this. I generally just plonk the ball down any old way and focus on line and length.

If when I look down the line I think its aiming slightly off I adjust the putter behind the ball then hit it. I don't adjust the ball again.

this, or I get as much of the white of the ball facing up. all in or nothing please!

I get the feeling that I might be trying to rescue the putting stroke at the last minute if I notice I am not bringing the putter sweet spot back right on the line.

sometimes no line, just stoke it works best!

I use the line on the ball or add a stronger one if I remember to before playing.
The putt always looks very different when I stand over it and I have to trust the line I have given myself from behind the ball. IF I don't I normally hit the putt short so I always believe in the line from the ball. I don't think it takes any longer to line up that putt but has saved more than it's cost me.

I use the line already on the ball. I'll probably have already marked the ball so when I'm replacing it I try to line it up with where I want the ball to start. Take a step back and use the shaft of my putter to see if I'm lined up correctly. I rarely change the position if I'm slightly out, just compensate for it at address. No practice strokes.

Then I just think about the target while I'm actually putting.

I use the Manufacturers line that is printed on the ball.

Read the green. Choose my line, line up the ball so it points in the direction I want it to go then hit it.

Once I am sure of the line I stick to it. So often before I'd choose it then stand over it and think, hmmm I think it needs more and I'd miss but had I hit it on my original line it would have dropped. So now I don't change it. Now I find if I miss its probably because I havn't read the line line well or the putting stoke has been poor.

For you to use Aimpoint chart that's very precise and then NOT to use the alignment aid, that's printed on the ball, to the target that's stated by the chart, I'm suprised at this? With you being so intent on improving and will try anything, which I can relate too, that you wouldn't want an aid that will help you to start the ball on your intended read from your chart? Very puzzled.

As I said, the focus became too intense on whether I was correctly lined up and it took away from starting the ball on the correct line or worrying about the right pace. If I need to focus these days it's usually to stop peeking and so I look at a specific dimple and look down until after the ball is on the way
