Used Ping

Looking for advice,
I'm a reasonably high handicapper who requires a 3 wood, I have a G10 driver and would like stick with Ping. G10 or Rapture? I want to buy secondhand so it's difficult to try first.
Any thoughts??

Is there a range near you where you can demo clubs? Or keep an eye out for a Ping fitting day where you could try out different models, shafts etc

Used Ping is expensive, cant beat ebay for bargains.

just gave them a go for a set of Irons i'm selling and they offered £300 which if you take the fact they have to sell them for a profit seems not bad but I have to post them.

UsedPing are expensive to buy but much better than Golfbidder if you want to sell them something. Recently got £165 for a set of Zing2's where Golfbidder offered £80! Much better (and easier)than selling on Ebay IMO

However, back to the OP - go for Ebay for a 2nd hand 3 wood. Should pick up a G10 for about £60 or £70. Don't discount the G5 3 wood that you could pick up cheaper and is a quality club.

I would buy a G5 before a G10 fairway. I think the G5 looks and sits nicer than the G10. I can strongle recommend the Rapture V2 fairway as I think its the nicest fairway on the market.

I have a mixture of Ping woods and hybrids, which i have built up based on how i like the club,and how it plays rather than if it is the latest model. I switched from a G10 driver to a G15 as i needed to change the shaft and it was the cheapest option. I have a G10 3 wood which i would not change as it is perfect for me.

I have two G5 hybrids, which i bought off ebay, which replaced a previous G10.Personal preference again.Ping don't seem to change their G woods much,but their G hybrids are very different.

I am sure you could pick up a G10 3 wood off ebay for about £70,but make sure you get the right shaft.

G5, G10,G15??

All quality clubs without a doubt. Maybe you can find someone at your club who can lend you something for a few shots. I know trialing last years models can be difficult as most of the shops/ranges tend to keep the new ones in.

If you get a G10 3 wood from E-bay and don't like it, you should be able to re-sell it with, at worst, only a few quid lost. Get a bargain and you may even make a small profit.

Should you buy a Ping fairway,you can be sure that whatever one you buy it will be a quality club,personally i would go for the Rapture.
