I'd rather see someone win with spectacularly good golf, like the stuff Scheffler finished with yesterday, rather than someone riding ridiculously good fortune whenever they hit truly awful shots (Scheffler on the 8th yesterday, 2nd today, etc.).

Scheffler is a weird one. Insane talent, but not much depth to the guy. He just goes about his business and does the job. He even normalised getting arrested on his way to a golf tournament.

You can't dislike him but he's hard to root for.


Add to that the fact he believes in cloud fairies - and we're left with a bit of a golfing enigma...

Would like to see replay of Scheffler's drive on 2. Thought he was in a bad spot, camera cuts to the second shot, wide open, nice lie. Of course he takes advantage.

TBF Scheffler isn't playing that well so far today, although you have that feeling he'll pull something out when needed
