Unexpected sight...

It's over mate, we won, there was a party, sorry you missed it :D

Seriously though it must have been great to see

Would have been better viewing if they were chasing after an ME-109. :)

Saw a flying fortress yesterday. Awesome machine. Went right over us. Had a hurricane earlier, and then a spitfire. Great to see these planes flying.

Had the Vulcan fly over my house about 5 (i think) years ago.

It was at low level and the noise was frightening. I heard (felt) it in the lounge, went out the back garden as it flew past.

Honestly i felt as proud as punch seeing her in her pomp again.

As an ex Matelot (Royal Navy) i have seen many an aircraft in my time. Sometimes at very close range.

The Vulcan was in a different class though. Nearly brought a tear to my eye.

I saw a Dakota on Saturday while I was having a golf lesson - must have been on its way for the fly past in London.

I love the Vulcan - what a phenomenal bit of engineering that is.

We seem to get a lot of older planes around here.
Spitfire
Hurricane
Dakota
Lancaster
B17 to name a few recent sightings

Had a Spitfire buzz the hose at a fairly low level last week and I think we saw a Bristol Beaufighter over the course a couple of weeks back. Not sure if any of these are still flying but it certainly liked like one..
We get Chinooks and Apache helicopters passing regularly too.

Shame about the flypast being curtailed. Normally, they fly up The Mall and keep going - we're on a direct line from there and the get to our place and disperse overhead.

A couple of weeks ago one of our suppliers had their annual golf day, stood outside the half-way house can of beer in hand and a Vulcan came directly overhead can't have been more than 2,000 feet up - awesome sight and sound!

Farm I used to work on was near RAF Cosford and the first time I saw the Typhoon come for it's practice for the airshow was awesome, was stood on my SP sprayer and when it turned above me the whole machine was vibrating.

Chap in our fiddle used to fly Vulcans and was part of the display team just before he retired .

My dad was a vampire pilot. Then a navigator and bomb aimer on canberras. He spent 5 years stationed in cypress, waiting to drop the atomic on st petersberg. He had enough gas to get there, but faced a long walk home!
