Last time I played portsallon, the guy asked had I played here before. I told him I had and he asked how much I had payed? I told him I think it was 17 euro twilight fee. He said sure that will do this time as well. Then he gave me a loan of his brolly.

No chance will they charge you 75 euro.

They print big fees as not to scare off the American visitors who want to know the course is reassuringly expensive in line with some of the other courses in donegal.

1. Seaford (Blatchington) is a much better course...
2. Quagmire in the winter, bone hard and unfair in the Summer....
3. I'll go with Piltdown.

IMO of course
;)
.
not saying Seaford isnt a good course Rob it is ,just not as underrated as the Head
never having played westerham in the winter i wasnt aware it was a bit boggy in places
and Piltdown is very underrated as it is a cracking little track that dosent get saturated like some sussex courses ,

Its a cracking course and on the list ,but its in Donegal Republic of Ireland and 75 euro ,you must have got signed on by a member to pay that

Yep great course for the money , we just turn up and my Irish mates said 25 euros , I always thought it was N I , not Eire , well it was good..................EYG

Tandridge,
Cuddington,
Coombe Hill
Murcar

Yes Murcar how could I forget that one, interesting, varied, great greens definitely oft forgotten.

I'll add a 'big up' for Murcar. The more I play it the more I'm finding more to like about it. Going into greens from the various angles all us amateurs experience in our rounds highlights what a great design it is.

Murcar for sure, it's way better than I thought it was going to be.

Moray Old, fantastic links course.

Beau Desert, Southerness and Preston for me....
Honourable mention to Walton Hall muni in Warrington... really is a good track for a mini... better than a lot of private clubs...

Gog Magog - Old Course
Sheringham
Ipswich Purdue Heath

I'm really not sure how any of these courses appear on a list of underrated courses.

Sheringham is always mentioned in the same bracket as any of its neighbours such as Cromer and Hunstanton. The Gogs Old Course is easily the best course in Cambridgeshire. Purdis Heath is well rated on any of rating websites, is the best course in Ipswich and probably in the top five in Suffolk. Exactly who is it that is under rating these courses?

Troon Portland. Absolutely fantastic track that is very much in the shadow of its big brother. Condition and layout were excellent.

Slight imbalance in the 9's but a fantastic day out. Recommended and a brilliant alternative to the likes of Glasgow Gailes, Western Gailes or Dundonald.
