Yesterday, they had an unbelievable finish at the IPL. Needless to say there was too much confusion and they had to get the statisticians out to figure out which team would go to the final play off. If you enjoy cricket, check out the last 3 balls of the match

Yes I watched it,as you say unbelievable.
However bowling full tosses was a complete gimme.
Must admit the crowds obsession with cricket creates a magic atmosphere.

Havnt watched it but if it's unbelievable then I'd like to see any betting patterns!

You old cynic!

Though I would have expected a Yorker for that ball rather than a full toss down leg! Certain Aussies might have ordered/bowled an unplayable Wide!

Is it only me who isnt a fan of the IPL ?

I enjoy watching the Big Bash and the T20 here but the IPL just seems a bit too full of itself - as well as lots of money

Cant stand any of it, but that comes from having watched and traded almost every game since it started
I like the T20 here because its not about the money and drafts etc and the atmopshere at games ia great

The Big bash is funny with all the old boys commentating

If you believe that even over here isnt about the money then lucky you, just dont look too far under the surface

Sorry ill rephrase it - the T20 does produce much needed funds for the country sides. Somerset ( my team ) survive because of the crowds they generate from the T20.

They survived plenty well enough financially before the T20 came along. Sadly a lot of the festivals have been lost to the game and most of the gate money goes to the mercenary overseas players, most of who arent worth a fraction of what they are paid

I think there was too much confusion going on. They initially said, they could ball a deliberate wide that would result in Mumbai winning. Then it changed to something like if they win via a wide then it would still be a tie and all that. Irrespective of that, it is incredible that the new guy swung it so well.

Besides that, it is interesting to see some new talent. Cory Anderson was simply amazing to get the 95 off 44. My Sunday was made by Rory and Cory...

Absolutely agree.

The non-Test ground counties survive on the back of the central payments from the ECB whose funds arise from sponsorship, TV rights and the facilitation fees they charge the Test ground counties, they in turn survive off the extraneous income generated by hosting Tests.

It seems that nearly all waste the money earned from T20 on short-term contracts for the aforesaid mercenaries.
