Ultimate Texas Scramble Past v Present

Thought he was still plying a trade on the Seniors?
Senior tours don't count only the PGA and European!

Imurg fair point fella!

Now, given that two of the rounds are to be played at links courses (St Andrews & Turnberry) I balanced out Master McIlroy with Mr T Watson. Looking at most of the teams though I fancy the young guns to take it but think they'll be pushed all the way!

Morning Smiffy! You'll be pleased to know that I'm putting together a forum select XI at Mike's request to take on the Pro's. Aztecs for his driving accuracy, Homer for his short game and you for your putting. The games scheduled for April 12th so we should be done by June ;)

Great.
I have a dozen brand new Z stars sitting here that I'm looking forward to releasing into the wild.

Past

Nick Faldo (Great under pressure)
Jack Nicklaus (Got it all)
Seve (no reason required)
Bobby Locke (could putt with sweeping brush)

Present

Luke Donald (Putting and Fairways & Greens)
Rory McIlroy (likely to pull off the outrageous)
Bubba (long and not a bad putter either)
Martin Kaymer (great all round game)

No place for Tiger as I can't stand looking at his miserable face and I wasn't sure which team he would be eligible for.

An excellent question Tiger.

Past - Bobby Jones, Jack Nicklaus, Sam Snead and Seve. First two as they are the best golfers in history and the second two because they have the best swings in history.

Present - Westwood, Donald, Stricker and McIlroy. Because they are the best for birdies at present in my view.

And the old boys would win.

My 'present' team would be:

Mike Harris
Jez Ellwood
Neil Tappin
Fergus Bissett

With the amount of golf they play, they probably know the courses better than the Pros !!
