You haven't mentioned budget.

Lots of great resorts at the top end eg Turnberry, Gleneagles.
Mid-range you could look at Celtic Manor, the Vale or any of the Marriott resorts such as Hanbury Manor.

If three of you want to play golf and only one is interested in the spa, I'd lean towards a proper golf destination like St Andrews. Or the dormy house at Lytham, the mrs can sit in the bath with a bottle of prosecco and pretend she's in a spa while you are out golfing.

Good point on budget - me working for a local authority and Mrs Daft being a teacher means that I'm looking at the "more affordable" options:LOL:

Re: Llanelli - we sometimes stay there when the kids go for coaching at Ashburnham. Such a shame to see the town as it is now with the town centre almost devoid of shops and hustle

End up booking a short break at the Warwickshire Golf & Country Club and another up at Lytham / Blackpool so hopefully have got all the bases covered for all members of the family
