How long of an exemption does he get for winning a major?

Fair play to him he made the weather situation count, didn't think it was very exciting except reallly for duval, mickelson and fisher trying to make a move near the end.

I will say one thing against him, he has to get rid of that dirty spitting habit every time the camera went on him he was spitting.

I don't really care who won it beyond the guy with the lowest score. It was a bit of a disaster as a tournament though and I think it's this that has sullied it a little.

On the plus side, the continual kowtowing to Woods as far as tee times go actually backfired for once! Out first on Thursdays meaning he's always out last on Fridays meaning he always knows exactly what he's got to do to be in the last groups for the weekend. It's always felt a bit preferential to me until this week when it cost him any real chance at all.

Great Masters, rubbish US Open hopefully meaning we're due a good Open next (not that I'll see it as I realised last night I'm on a stag that weekend - d'oh)

Whilst I accept the tournament as a whole was pretty disappointing due to weather issues, I'd just like to say that I thoroughly enjoyed the final days play (Monday). I saw the leaders play their last 11/12 holes and was enticed by the potential of any one of 6 or 7 guys winning the tournament. This in my opinion is far more entertaining than watching Tiger, or A another, run away with it and win by 12 shots. Which although in itself is sublime ,and a great exhibition of golf, to me it is not how a tournament finale should unfold.

Perhaps it was not as good as others, but overall the tournament was still highly enjoyable in my opinion.

I do believe I would struggle to find any major tournament with a field comprising all of the worlds top 50, unenjoyable.

Like its last day of the US open, if things go well you could be picking up the trophy and in photos that will be shown for years and GMac turns up in a black shirt and pink trousers -like a demented liquorice allsort -amazing!

Just to play 'devil's avocado' for a minute, and put it in context, this 'nobody' did have a fairly poor 08 and banked 'only' a million dollars, but in the three preceding years he finished 30th, 21st and 53rd on the Money list with $2 million, $2.6 million and $1.6 million in winnings


I'd like to be a 'nobody' with a bank balance like that thank you very much!

Poor guy!
He posts the best score over 72 holes and people are bloody moaning...
I for one was thrilled Tiger "Whinging ballbag" Woods didn't get a sniff- too many times he gets the best tees etc as others have posted, but It's his sulky face I can't stand.
A shame as he is undoubtably the best golfer to ever play, but a pity hes such a sulking baby most of the time.
He could take lessons off the likes of Harrington when it comes to dealing with the press and fans.
