I had a major run in at Rufford GC on the first tee. Without going into detail one of there members was a grade one knob. it was mentioned to the Captain who worked at our pit what had gone off. He looked into it and came out with some right BS about what he heard had happen. No probs, I have never played there again and never will. Always said that clubs are only as good as there worst members.
Glad to hear that some clubs respond better than others.

Surely the pits are all shut now and so have no meaning in this story?!

I agree with OP wait until it's safe etc, no point risking it!

we do the same on our 8th and 9th. The tee box for the 9th is right next to 8th fairway and not far from an elevated green.generally not in the way but you can easily slice it and hit the players driving off.

we all tend to wait until they finish before hitting approach shots to the 8th green.

Just got this reply from the General manager

Hi Paul I have now spoken to my members involved and made it known that I am not happy and I do not expect visitors to this club to be treated in such a poor way. I am grateful to you for bringing it to my attention and enabling me to deal with it.

I am upset to think that you were disappointed and would like to offer you as some small recompense a free four ball on me to make up for it. Book yourself in with the pro shop and let Dave our pro or one of his team know that this is a courtesy round. If you do take up the offer make sure that you ask for me when you have finished and we can have a chat over a beer.

Best regards

Bob

I think you should name the club, Bob the GM deserves a pat on the back
