Twitter

Agree with most of that other than it's had it's time and dwindling, you have one possibly two generations that are absolutely hooked on it and won't be weened off. On your other points, Facebook is becoming and old persons thing now, twitter is definitely becoming a place of hate, and again Instagram is just full of posers i.e. Carly Booth etc.

They say if you got it flaunt it

However I dont think Carly has it

I use it almost solely for sport, betting and poker, my account is in effect anonymous as a lot are, especially when im trading cricket games i have a feed which is basically just like minded souls doing the same (a lot of us migrated there from a forum that lost its way) plus a lot of related news feed sites etc, goldmine of information at times if following the right people but takes a while to find/know who to follow (if you use tweetdeck you can have separate feeds for separate groups of people you follow)

Also follow a few from on here and have a vent on there when the footie is on!

I love it, and tweet a fair bit. .

Hmmm....see I find that all a bit concerning, I always have found anyone posting random stuff on the internet in the hope that someone will reply slightly strange. It's not a like a forum the likes of here where you enter in to discussion, twitter to me is folk posting stuff hoping someone will read it and reply/like.

I’m on Twitter but rarely posting these days. I do find the negativity quite annoying. Easy to hide behind a keyboard and abuse.

Do like instagram...but need to have a cull of people I follow

The main problem social media is facing right now is that it is in effect an echo chamber. If you're not aware of this then it simply reinforced beliefs that might be completely unproven and actually make your beliefs more extreme.

Twitters anonymity exacerbates this phenomenon.

There's someone on here who I somehow follow with a political stance on the right side of Tory (ie Brexit Party). I'm always amazed at his retweets and likes, but that's the world presented to him via twitter. It's easy to see how that then makes his opinions more extreme. This also happens on the left, whereby people 'outliberal' each other and turn from sensible moderate commentators until they're practically communist.

Its probably the platform I use the most, have got the most value from but also the one I would like to change the most. The anonymity coupled with their algorithms make it dangerous in the wrong hands.

I don’t tweet or Facebook to old and grumpy for that 😱

Speaking to my son-in-law yesterday about Robertson and my view was why does he need to go on Twitter, sil said as fans rarely get autographs now it’s one way of interacting with them.

I can see his point but has it lost it’s sole? Remember taking my son to white heart lane and waiting for players to come out and speak to them and get autographs.

Can’t get them memories from a tweet

A number of players wont give autographs now as people sell them on Ebay, via shops etc. They will pose for selfies but not give autographs. Shame but if people abuse it then that is what happens.

I started using Facebook as my kids were on it but now they post on it very little. I started using it again more, and joined Twitter, when I was Vice-Captain and Captain at our club to promote the club.
I'm not a big fan to be honest. Most of it is people posting banalities and nothing of much interest.
Given the issues that happened with the Trump and Brexit campaigns and the plethora of "fake news" on there I don't take any "news" I see there as gospel unless it's from a source I trust or I can verify it elsewhere.
A friend of mine re-tweets everything on there that ties in with his particular view on life and ignores everything else. He's big into conspiracy theories but when I ask him why he believes poster A and not poster B it basically boils down to he believes the one that matches his view. Very dangerous IMHO.

I couldn't care less what you think, and the last part of your comment highlights that you don't actually understand how Twitter works. It's full of conversation and discussion in much the same way as it is here.
