Twitter Was....

Im on twitter a fair bit, mostly used for when Im punting the cricket and follow a lot of like minded individuals and also most of the professionals and journalists, currently it is the best and fastest place for related news so its almost a must have.

Dont have any of my real friends on there, but have started to get a collection from here (all Orkas fault lol)

I have it, never really used it until the TM day. i kind of like it, but cant see me becoming a serial user. i do like following sports people, Poulter is good, David Lloyd, joey Barton, all good for their own reasons!

i dont have anything important enough to share really, no one is interested in what i am having for my tea etc, i think for normo muggles like us, its a place to tell people stuff that the physical people you are near are not interested in hearing...

But if the people you are physically near to aren't interested what makes you think anyone else is? Sorry just don't get it.

just got into Twitter, the novelty hasn't worn off yet. You can be as interactive or as passive as you want.

I have found it quite useful for course updates etc

It will probably come as a great surprise to some, but twitter has passed me by. I thought wasting time on here was bad enough.

I do have an account but as Hacker Khan said earlier in the thread who wants to know anything I'm doing? I'm just an average bloke with nothing interesting going on. I can see the point of it for following interesting people but not average joe's

Why you telling us this ? we dont care :D :D

Just kidding mate , i agree totaly with the comment above , but checking it out to see

that was my point! or were you agreeing with me?!

Yes; sorry I didn't make it clearer that I was agreeing with you.

And as for following the famous names I definitely can't understand why anybody is interested in Rio taking the kids to school or Poulter's new car.

Clearly the modern fascination with the cult of celebrity escapes me.

Throw yourself in, go looking for the hashtags you are interested in, get chatting to people. Don't just add loads of famous people and expect to be amazed by what they tweet to the general public.

I happened to tweet yesterday that I could not find a football match on TV. And I got 2 replies from random people telling me where it was (on S4C as it turned out). I have no idea how they found my tweet as neither of them followed me. I was pleased with the helpfulness, but at the same time a bit spooked on how they came across my tweet.

Also I have got involved in a few good # conversations and scheduled discussions. So it's a thumbs up from me.

i used Twitter and FB to bore people about my golf mostly. Its handy to find out about local gigs and to kee pin some touch with friend you dont see very often.

Yeah famous people in general are boring on it because you know anything they put will have been vetted by someone with a legal mind. You get a few anomalies who are genuinely funny and a bit riskier in what they tweet (there's a professional baseball player for example called Logan Morrison who used to be hilarious).
