How. He bought a club up for sale and has decided to make wholesale changes under R&A auspices and guidance to make a venue fit for an Open in the modern day. From the clip he's thinking a lot of the crowds and where to create perfect arenas to view. I think it's a good thing and so what if the name has his name, the competition being played there is and always will be the Open

Loved the video and the changes look superb to be honest. I have played the current layout and it's hard to think it can be improved but all the changes seem sensible and constructive. Not just change for changes sake. Not a big fan of corporate resort setups but it's a sector in the golf market and does provide some great tracks....at a price. Dread to think what the green fees will be here.

Sadly I've never played the course and watched the vid kinda hoping to dislike the proposals.

Sadly I was disappointed, since all the changes look really good and genuine improvements.

Sadly I still can't/won't pay the exorbitant green fee.

Sadly by the time the Open rota comes round it'll be on Sky so I won't see it,

well let's us hope that no other of our institutes of clubs go up for sale and he gets his mitts on them. God forbid....

I can see it now at next Open at Turnberry, on the 18th Green with the presentation of the Claret Jug. No doubt his over sprayed super stiff hair do will be in the line up with the R&A officials........

The only change I'm not sure I like is the 18th, just don't like the look of the hole. Without the grandstand could be a bit boring!

The 18th is far from boring, in fact I'd say they've toughened it up.
