Trojan horse help ??

Looking for a bit of help from our techie friends :)

Our laptop has shown up, on starting, a threat detected ! Threat name is Trojan horse dropper.generic5.CENP. It is noted that an accessed file is infected.
We are running avg, dont want to do too much more just now.

Download and install Superantispyware. It's a free programme and it is very very good at sorting out things like this, just google it. Do not worry about it being a dodgy programme, it's super dependable. Give it a go.
 
I've always found "hijack this" to be very effective. I think that you need to pay for this now though - not sure.

If its too bad simply back up your personal data (stuff you absolutely need to keep) then blat the machine. Hopefully you have the re-install disks or some machines have a recovery partition already on the hard disk which is protected. If you dont have them then google your model and someone will have a copy somewhere.
 
Hmmmm.. Just wondering at the kind of sites you visit ... :whistle::whistle:

They help me with advice on all PC related stuff & I found their reviews very useful when I was building my current PC :whistle:.
Seriously though, it's a very interesting forum & I'm often on their site if I need to upgrade any hardware, printer etc...................................honest guv.
