Has anyone thought of entering this comp? I know the entry fees are quite dear, £250 I believe but i'm thinking it could be fun.

Thought's from you all, And while i'm posting may i wish you all a very merry christmas.

I wanted too but was way too late. Smiffy is in for next year and I think several others might be too

Yep, I'm in for next year. Paid my £50.00 deposit but getting a bit cheesed off now that they haven't posted the date and venue for the Southern region qualifier.
They said that the dates would be up in November, well it's getting towards the end of December and we still don't know!
Problem I have is that people at work are starting to book next years holidays and I have already committed to three golfing weekends away. I'm hoping that as the deposit is non-refundable or transferable that dates don't clash.

Looking at the results of the recent Christmas meet at the Buckinghamshire, one guy (Ritchie Hunter) playing off 4 came in with 42 points...
Playing off 3/4's obviously didn't bother him!

At the other end of the scale, a 12 handicapper came in with 7 points. Hope I get him in my group next year. Pound, pound, pound, fifty pence birdies???? :D :D :D

My mate Charlie won it last year and turned Pro staright after, there is a two page write up on him in Golf International this month.
Will defo look to play in it myself next year as it sounds a good deal - just got to get my handicap down first .

Maybe i'm reading it wrong but i thought it was really expensive????
It costs you £250 and you could get eliminated after the first round.....£250 a round is steep??

For the £250 you get:

At least 1 round of competition golf
A pair of WH trousers
A WH T-shirt
A WH Trilby
A Callaway golf bag

Plus I think you get a WH belt.....
and your caddy gets a natty white boilersuit :D

Also there is coverage on Sky Sports

There are 6 Regional Qualifiers at the moment. All are full except for Ireland. They are going to announce more qualifying venues and dates. You can also put your name on a waiting list (deposit refundable if you don't get in).
As everyone still has to cough up another £200 next year, there will no doubt be a few that pull out and free up some spaces for anyone on the waiting list.

If anyone's recorded any of the coverage and can put it on a dvd I'd be very interested in 'buying' a copy. :)

I'm having a bash at it next year too.
It's steep but you get some of it back in kit, and I just think the opportunity of playing in a competition set up like a pro event is something I'm never likely to do any other way.

I can't see how it's too late for anyone wanting to enter since they are announcing (so they say) more venues.

How can each of the 5 events so far be full when no-one has chosen which one they want to play in? I could feasibly make it to all 5 within a couple of hours from my home, so will choose the course I fancy playing most (or think suits my game most).

Trouble is, I don't know anyone (apart from my kids who have no idea of golf etiquette) who could carry clubs for 18 holes without falling over!

Anyone fancy the job? ;) ;)
