Trevor Sinclair RIP

Wow, just wow. What a horrible woman, how desperate to get publicity for herself.
It is ironic that such people who live to highlight the racial injustices of the past, and seek equality (nothing wrong with that), choose language which is extremely racially divisive.

I wonder if this Anya women ever stopped to think how race relations have changed since 1952?

Some totally vile people have surfaced in the last 24 hours. Jaki from Muir of Ord on twitter is another that has managed to destroy her livelihood.

Maybe he's just lacking a moral compass ??
Perhaps. But as that's not a physical issue. Where's the problem and what sort of folk are best qualified to provide solutions?
I dont like to hear people use mental health as an excuse for poor behaviour when there's many who genuinely suffer and cant get the help required. Its like the old back ache excuse for not working.
Where did I state 'excuse'? It's certainly a likely 'reaason' though. And the back-ache excuse is likely to have psychological reasons too. Guess which group of experts are likely to be best qualified to provide help?!
FWIW, I had an uncle who was an alcoholic and I know what sort of folk provided the best support!
I know footballers aren't the brightest of chaps...
Have you any actual evidence that's the case?
Those posting his address and phone number should be ashamed of themselves
At least we agree on something!

Free speech doesn’t mean you can say whatever you like without any repercussions

Free speech comes with the the responsibility to not cause offence
No it doesn't. Free speech has nothing to do with causing 'no offence' People can and will be offended by all manner of views.

I agree that it does not come with the immunity to be challenged.

I agree with all other posters that his comments were tacky, distasteful, poor. I disagree with your last comment however, as long as someone is not breaking laws, encouraging hate crimes etc. Who decides what causes offence? Should JK Rowling be closed down because she is offending some people. To others she is championing the rights of women and girls and is a hero.

We live in an era where you can easily find someone who is offended by any comment, that in itself is not enough. Sinclair will rightly have to deal with the implications of his comments. Obscurity beckons, that is the consequence of his use of free speech.

totally agree with this. He will have to live with the consequences of his actions, along with retarded Jacki Picket, the fishshop owner in the Highlands, who celebrated the death of The Queen by by spraying champagne and dancing outside her shop and was pelted with eggs by angry locals, and the New York Times for publishing the Offensive article by Professor Maya Jasanoff - and indeed, Jasanoff for writing it.

Free speech must be protected - if any comments break any laws, then the police and courts can deal with it, if comments offend then the instigator has to live with the consequences, villifications etc

Hadn’t seen the idiotic fish and chips lady, hopefully she loses her business through lack of custom.

Sadly the general public have short memories on lots of things or persons that are offensive
I'm not so sure. There are plenty out there that never forget, and never forgive.

And, unless this woman can prove she was on some strong medication and acting extremely out of character, forgiveness may not be deserved, as she has shown her true colours.

Remember that there have been civil wars/revolutions fought, over the position/rights of royalty, in several countries.
She's entitled to celebrate peacefully, imo, but I'd expect a, hopefully peaceful, backlash as a consequence.

He’s entitled to post what he likes, as long as it doesn’t break the law, or the rules of the site he posts it on.

But he also has to expect a response. But that reponse should also be within the law, and rules of the relevant site.
