may come in handy for next few upcoming meets.

Thanks Pappas.
I use them quite a bit, always find them very good, clean and convenient.
I try to avoid the town centre ones though, they can be noisy.

In the year 2000 we did a 14 day tour of the UK. We were visiting old friends/family and special places and staying at Travelodges.
By booking a month in advance our average cost was less than £20 a night.

Best ones are Fort William, Worcester, and Ryde.

A good deal but I've never had a good experience with Travelodges. I understand they've improved recently but every time I've stopped in one it was a poor/bad/terrible experience.

This unfortunately has been my experience of travelodge. Last one I stayed at was scotch corner. The person that slept in the bed before me must of weighed 60 stone. The mattress was knackered. Couple next door was playing mr and Missis Rumpy pumpy. I thought well it will keep me awake for two mins. An hour plus later the wafer thin wall is still banging. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

Did you give them a round of applause afterwards? Fair play 😁

They are cheap and basic. They do a job but if I can stay in any other option I will do.

This for me, not exactly where I’d take the missus if I’m looking to impress her. But for £15 it'll do when I’m stopping over enroute somewhere.

Use them all the time, book in advance to get decent deals especially with promotions like this. We've just booked a family room in London for 2 nights for £90, we'll use it to sleep in as we'll be out and about for the rest of the time. If I have had a bad experience if you complain you normally get at least half back for what you paid, happened twice to use and got half back each time.

We stayed there LT because we took ma and pa to the Appleby horse fair on the Friday. The night of rumpy pumpy was Friday night. On the Saturday Ma changes her mind and decides she wants to go to Whitby, In stead of going back to horse fair. We had a drink and meal in Richmond on the Saturday night, stayed at Scotch corner again. She then decides we will go to York on the way home. She did nowt but moan about travelodge. I told her if she had made her flippin mind up re what she wanted to do in the first place we would of stayed in Whitby for the weekend and not a truckers greasy transport station.

Find them a bit hit and miss but there are some good ones out there. Seems a good deal if you can find a nice one. These tend not to be the town centre ones as I find them full of idiots, especially once the pub shuts

I use loads of them, never had a bad, noisy or unclean one. Some are in locations that are popular mainly with travelling workmen, like recently when I stayed in Stirling & Glasgow, but for the money and somewhere to stick your Head, they are great value imo.

This exactly, I travel quite a bit and its either perfect and a huge bargain, or horrible.

If you are passing again Richmond has a lovely scone cafe in the main square. The cherry and almond and lemon meringue were fabulous.

The golf course at Richmond is also worth a round. Not a top 100 course but a real pleasure with some fun holes. I would happily be a member there as it is enough of a test but won't beat you up. Don't stay in the Scotch Corner Travelodge though 😂

Have they finished the road works at Scotch Corner yet ?

Agree with this post 100%

Never had any issue with them and I have used them up and down the country.
