The wife and I have just booked for our first child free holiday since we got married 15 years ago. We've booked a nice little place on the outskirts of Marmaris. I was just wondering if anyone could give us any advice about the area, good places to visit/eat or where to avoid etc
Cheers

We went to marmaris for the 1st time in May,loved it. We've booked again for next May. As for eating out your spoilt for choice. Picadilly is well worth a visit, really nice food & good value.
Its a nice walk on the front to the Harbour, but you do get a bit fed of waiters trying to get you to eat in their restaurant's.

We have been to Turunc twice which is a small town about 5 miles up the coast from Marmaris
You can pick up a water taxi from the marina and go visit some of the small beaches, all of which will have a decent taverna .
Food is very good quality and much cheaper than the euro zone

If you want to go on a trip I can recommend the 2 day trip to Ephasus and Pamukalle

Feel free to shout if you need any more info

I'm going to Marmuris next July is there any decent courses nearby I can rent a set of clubs and play?

Been to Turkey 3 times now the last in May, BELEK mainly, when I was there talking to the people there they said there is only golf in Belek as the rest of turkey doesn't care for it.
Am sure you will enjoy where your going , and its a week away from golf ! so your miss it more and enjoy when you return:thup:

P.s just watching the Turkish open on sky, played that course in May ! lovely place:D

Looks nice that pal. Their local beer is Efes, that's probably what they'll be serving in your hotel. It's spot on
