I don't get to play on the course much so most of my distances have been gauged on the range, I understand that range distances will not go as far as course ones, so for example I hit my 7 iron on the range about 135-140, is there a rough estimate as to the extra distance I could expect on the course?

simple answer - no

firstly there's the question of what balls and surface at the range, then there's any slope or local conditions (wind funnel) at the range, how the balls are stored (temperature) and when you practice relative to when you play (if you practice at 8 in the evening underfloodlights but play at midday there could be a huge difference in carry with the same ball!

then there's the question of which ball you play on the course

finally, at 15, you are likely to be hitting it better and better all the time.

personally I reckon I generally get 'range carry distances' from all my irons on the course - but the distances with a driver are down on those I get on the course (carry wise) IMO.
