Transfer Window

Well I did say 'surprise' package. But I'm not a Saints fan so couldn't care less :). Can't spell the managers surname but he seems to have them playing some rather good, attacking football, both home and away. Give me 12th or higher then for a dozen Srixon Z stars...?

Haha no sorry mate you said top 10 :ears:

I think Everton have done the best business out of the lot!

Great money for Felliani as I honestly don't believe he's worth that much having seen him on more than just the 'big game' occasions. Barry still has a lot to offer and McCarthy is a great signing for a 22(?) yr old. But Lukaku...I honestly thought Chelsea would keep him given the impact Drogba had for them and would imagine that Everton will have another good season now. Their next game, Chelsea. Just a shame Lukaku can't play.

I'd be disappointed if I were an Arsenal fan, yes 42m spent one one player but they do need some grit and I think that's why they'll be nearly men again. Watching Spurs and I actually don't think that they'll be as good as last year, lots of changes to the spine of the team and Soldado for me won't be value for money at 27m. What is wrong with Defoe! And if I were a Man Utd fan, I wouldn't be overly impressed but would still fancy my chances at a top 2 finish. Chelsea for me this year.

Back to reality and I'm a Bolton fan so I will now stop typing...

Another poor bugger, that make 3 of us on here

Ill bet you 10th or higher for a dozen Z stars then

You've clearly gone away for 10 mins and had a serious think about this...;)

You're on. I'm a man true to my word.

I bet (not with anyone else but myself) that they now finish 11th....

Worked for them since the Southampton FA Cup game in 1992, 19yrs in all (hopefully pin-seeker isn't Barry Horne in disguise). Left voluntarily for another post before they were relegated season before last. Perfect career timing.Probably a convo to be had 'off-air'.

Ozil is a fantastic signing. Flamini is solid, sanogo is one for the future, may be.

We are light up front. Could have done with Higuain really, and another CB.

Spare keeper is ok, but would have preffered Begovic.

Was there ever a plan though, because if there was, it wasn't in evidence.

Wenger did well and I didn't really expect (or want him) to start talking about his "real" target before the deal was almost done. Probably Suarez and Higuain was just a smoke screen and Ozil was the man he was really after all along.

Do you still want Wenger out?

Hopefuly mate if Lukaku can continue his form from West Brom last year it would be great , we so need a 15 goal striker .. Jela is gone stone cold .. yea im a bit more optamistic for the season now ...

Lukaku needs regular game time to bring him on and Martinez is a decent manager, hopefully it works out and we have him back next season, just keep him away from the penalties....

We did bugger all (toon fan), I just hope its all part of a plan by ashley to sell! Can't see it happening though.

Spurs probavly did the best business, but Everton had the best final day, Lukaku is a cracking deal. Worried if I was a chelsea fan though, can't see JM changing to play more free flowing play.

Why, he got us two league titles last time and the football was a lot better than some of the pundits would have you believe. Having watched all his games last time I'm not concerned about having him back.

He's not Drogba yet and he needs to play. Apparently we would have kept him if we could have offloaded Ba, but with 4 strikers he was always going to struggle to be first choice at this stage of his career, hopefully it will benefit him and us long term.

Yes. Something has to change. It's all become a bit stale, the game has moved on, and arsenal haven't. I can't see much change happening if Wenger is still in charge, as he has too much power.

I don't believe for one minute that Ozil was the main transfer target at the start of the window.

I'm pretty pleased with the purchases LFC made in the window, extra depth in the squad and the team is starting to work well together.
Will be interesting to see how it goes when Suarez is available again with Sturridge, Coutinho and Aspas in the squad.
Good signings for the back four to boot. All going in the right direction so far.

Mr Pin-seeker, sir.

I know, I know....it's early days.

But. What a start for you men, must be delighted and they're pretty god to watch too. Press high, not afraid to attack, defenders look more than capable, solid keeper, just need to keep em all fit!

This season is gonna be a belter and the January window is gonna be MASSIVE.

Is it too early to say that 4th place is wide open or are Liverpool gonna steal a march on it leaving Utd out? Will Arsenal be able to keep this run goin'?

And who on earth (apart from Palace) will get relegated.

Loving this season so far.

Lmao forgot who I'd had this bet with. I'm not a saints fan but yes they're playing some cracking football & the league position is justified.
I'm just hoping they finish 11th or I've a dozen Z-stars to buy :(

Next 4 fixtures are Stoke away, Hull at home, then Arsenal and Chelsea away. Take 8 points from them and I reckon you want to get down the pro shop!

Steadily slipping away now mate. Nice easy game at the Bridge on Sunday. I'll not order the Z-Stars just yet.

Oooohhh, this thread again :-)

Tis an interesting bet is this one, not as daft as some thought. I've also doubled up on it for the price of a curry with my mate who also thought it was a no-brainer. Will be close I think.

Everybody has to play everybody though. They're still a force at home and have one of the best defensive records in the league. GD is far better than those below so worth an additional point. January will be important and where my brand new z-starts are concerned, I hope they go spend some cash!

And is the manager ever going to do an interview in English!?!?

Tbh mate the only reason I don't want them to finish in the top 10 is because of this bet. Otherwise I'd love them to make top 4. If they do make top 10 I'll definitely pay up with a dozen new shiny Z Stars:thup:

And in a weird way I wouldn't mind them finishing 11th knowing that I'd at least made you sweat a little. And I'd have no hesitation in buying the balls and sending em on to you, it'd be the curry to my best mate that would really, really hurt. Every debate/disagreement we have normally ends in "right, bet ya a curry on it...."
