I was at a driving range yesterday which had trackman first time I’ve been on one.
So perhaps a silly question….. looking at the stats it gives ball speed is this the stat that gives your swing speed?

Not exactly no. You can potentially work it by doing the math of Ball speed ÷ Smash factor = Clubhead speed

* Swing speed (clubhead speed) = how fast the clubhead is moving at impact
* Ball speed = how fast the ball leaves the clubface after impact

They’re connected, but one doesn’t directly equal the other. If the trackman at the range gives you Smash factor or on some displays efficiency then using the above you can usually work it out.

Ok thanks but I won’t be working that out 😂
Glorious morning here in Edingburgh off to Gleneagles shortly

Trackman driving ranges don't typically measure swing speed. And you can't reliably work it out from the ball speed, because ball speed is affected by the strike location, and the type of ball you're hitting - i.e. it may well be lower with a range ball.

There are plenty of conversion charts online, like the ones here for example: https://www.golfwrx.com/303248/how-far-you-can-actually-hit-your-driver/
But as I say, it can't always be directly translated because of the variable factors.
