Tournies to See in 2011

Given your location I'd head for the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth (26-29 May). I've been a few times and it's a great tournament. Superb course and top class field.

I did my first live one at the BMW.
The 2nd is a good intro hole if you get there early; carpark right next to it.
Par 3 and you can stand right above the green

I always enjoy going to Wentworth and will most likely be going again next year, as long as I am not away on holiday or anything.

If I end up going, dB you're welcome to come along, if you're interested?

I've been thinking about going to the BMW PGA. Should have a forum trip if others are interested!

Agree about going to practice days. Went to the Irish Open practice day last year and was great. Got to follow McDowell right up close, hear him chat to caddie etc. My Dad was chatting Thomas Levet on the putting green. Much more relaxed atomphere.

Hoping to go to the open next year to see my first live tournament. Always watched golf, but only started playing this year so the bugs biting deeper.

Anyone interested in going and slipping out towards the end of play, Royal Ascot is only down the road if anyone fancies a game on the way home

Got tickets for myself and a mate for the Saturday & Sunday of the Open - £50 a day if brought before the end of the year.

Looks like it will be a great weekend as we're going to play a round locally/on the way down - just need to decide where.

Well this year I went to see the European Seniors at Slaley Hall - Sam Torrance, Woosie, Sandy Lyle etc.

On the Par 5 4th Sandy smashed a drive around 400 yards, so Torrance (who was on the green in the next group)turned round and shouted "Sandy take the driver next time" :)

I guess it's on again in 2011

Thanks for the offer Homer - I'll take you up on it at some point but for The Open Ascot is in the wrong direction for us. We're looking to play somewhere in Kent.

Offer still stands at RA - Members guest fee is £30

Thats a bit steep Homer, how much is the green fee for a visitor?,its only £14 at my course,i got signed on at St Andrews Old that was £34 so £30 to play your track is steep mate.
