Tour Bag

I had one when I was a kid - bloody huge great thing and weighed a ton. No-one will ever carry it so it goes on a trolley - it was like dragging my entire family round the course!!!
The pros have them for three reasons - 1) they get them free from their club provider (which also fits into the third reason), 2) to carry enough stuff to see them (and probably their caddy) through a six hour round and 3) to have more fabric than an average bag so that sponsors can be added in large enough print to be seen. I've never had a six hour round and, unfortunately, didn't have any sponsors so I didn't really need one.

I got mine because I was young and thought it'd make me look like a pro on the course - I was wrong. Looked the part - played like a tool. Get yourself the PING Pioneer - top bag and you won't look silly.

Your choice though.....

That's a great look for a 16 year old ;)

In my opinion, they look best when they're being carried.

Having said that, I had mine when I was 16 and I ended up borrowing my Dad's electric trolley - in all fairness it was the only thing that could take the strain of the behemoth!!!

I carried one for about 10 years. Probably why I can't carry now. Back, neck and knees not up to it, and tennis elbow when I pick it up.

Get a carry bag, it is what they are for.

I have to agree that unless its on an elctric trolley then its a pain. That said mine sits lovely on the old GK and I can get waterproofs, spare towels, extra gloves, drinks and snacks in with ease. It comes into its own in a competition in wet conditions when you need extra stuff and the umbreall holder on the GK really helps keep everything dry.

However if I was you Mono unless you are going down the trolley route (and why would you want to at your age) most carry bags are very light these days and can easily take everything you'll need on course with ease. Save the extra money and get a carry one

But if it is going on a trolley, get a cart bag. These have the pockets aligned for use on a trolley. Tour bags don't sit properly, and half the pockets are inaccessible. Tour bags are for carrying, cart bags for trolleys.

mono do you really want a bag that big but which has so few dividers that all your clubs are banged up together?

minimum I'd insist on would be 14-way, not 4
