Totally Progtastic Mates -Not 'Alf!!

Marc Bolan and T Rex were the start of it for me . Then Mud and sweet along with Slade and wizard.
And of course the leader of the gang.Bowie with his spiders and Elton .not forgetting Suzi Q and Alvin, and the best of the bunch was Alice Cooper.

Focus - Moving Waves is a particular favourite album of mine. If it's ELP then it's Trilogy.

Favourite prog band of them all for me though is Yes. The period from The Yes Album through to Close to the Edge has never been bettered.

Nowhere near as old as ChrisD :)
:)

Is anyone?

Harsh but fair! :D

Another one who enjoys the Alan Parsons Project here, but can't say that I "got" any other prog rock bands; the odd song here and there (Owner of a Lonely Heart by Yes being one) but none in the collection other than the Alan Parsons Project

Now we're talking. I remember my mother's horror the first time Sweet were on TOTP

And mine, although I think she quite warmed to them after seeing Alice Cooper for the first time……

With mentioning Barclay James Harvest then you're positively ancient :D

Although ...and other short stories is one of my most favourite albums ever.
Saw John Lees BJH with my daughter few months back. just booking up to see Graham Parker and the Rumour and Wishbone Ash. Fortunate she has same taste in music as me.

Heads up that UFO are on in Southampton in a couple of months.

It seems that we are equi-ancient and I look forward to discussing 70s prog with you in a few weeks. I think a couple of BJH have now gone to the great gig in the sky, Mel the drummer and Wooly too. Very sad :-(

BJH were a favourite of mine ever since the day my big brother came back from Uni and brought with him And Other Shipirt Stories when I was a mere broth of a boy.

Live tapes is my favourite album. Seen them a few times live and always put on a great show. Child of the Universe one of my all time favourite songs.

I think you will find I am a lot younger than you, just that I have a great memory for bands that were around when I was a about five. Looking forward to our game, though I am a bit of a disappointment in 'real' life, as many will tell you.:(

I have gone through life being something of a major disappointment to all of those who have encountered me. But my old Mum, Gawd bless 'er, could always spot my latent genius, so not all bad news.
