So, for the past 3 or so months my driving and putting has been decent. Mostly two putting and driving straight (by and large) about 220yds....

My irons and chipping had let me down, and low 100s had been the order of the day.

So, worked really hard on irons and chipping and got them to an acceptable standard, only for my driving and putting to let me down. Shot 106 yesterday which has been my worst for a while. 100-102 has been my average last few months, still yet to break 100 frustratingly.

Anyways, have a lesson tomorrow and the focus will be on driving. But..... Any advice for a high handicapper to try and get everything at an OK standard? Bar yesterday, I've really seen mid 90s in my round but not on the scorecard.

Advice needed.

It's sounds like your not far away from shooting below 100, I would suggest good course management might be key, don't take on to many high risk shots if you are in trouble of the fairway just try and get it back on the fairway.

The more you worry about it happening the longer it will take.
It will happen but not when you expect it to[probably].
Just keep doing the basics right, keep the 3 and 4 putts off the card and it will happen.

Keep going, believe in yourself, the more you play the better you will get.

The biggest issue I have at the moment is keeping playing well when I am playing well. Its a hot topic for me, I am taking my theory to the course. Its not instantaneous but in time I know I will hold a round together better.

Keep plugging away it will come. Forget about the score on the course add it up at the end. You will do it when you least suspect it like me, thought I had played crap and scored a 98

Forget about medals and concentrate in stableford scores.

You won't be beating yourself up for racking up a big score on a hole and you won't chase the score as much.

Breaking 100 might seem like a big deal to you now but you will look back on it I a few years and you won't even care.
