To change a driver or not to change?

'Draw' bias Driver one day, normal the next, ....10* one day, ......12.5* the next.....how the devil are you to stand confidently over anything when you chop & change like that ? :D

I don't know, maybe it's an odd talent.....

I often hit other players clubs in bounce games and it doesn't bother me. My drivers are identical length and have similar shafts and swing-weights.....

I'm not saying it's right or wrong for other players, only that it's OK if you don't lose confidence by pulling out any bit if usable kit....

I've played some crackers with all/any set up. If I've lost confidence with a 10 degree (and that's quite easy if my timing is out) and put the 13 in the bag knowing it's as easy to hit as my 3 wood, who's the more stupid? me for swapping around or the players who can't hit a fairway for toffee and walk off with 25 points struggling with the driver that usually goes OK?

I'm only talking about 3 clubs (now 2, as I'm stuck with the putter for good).....and yes, I was C/F for the 10.....but my swing is far different from a year ago.

I was only looking for a quick fix for the medal round this morning. I was hitting my R7 Limited poorly yesterday and wanted to look at the draw bias as a sticking plaster solution to try and let myself at least be competitive as Ascot is driving course where hitting fairways is important.

As it happens I kept the R7 in the bag and for the most part it behaved itself. I understand where the post about chopping and changing and consistance was coming from and if a player regularly swaps kit around there will never be a settled feel to the game. I also understand RGDave's view and go along with that too. Until I got my R7 I used the Cleveland Hi-Bore XLS (draw bias) which was great and the bias gave me a few extra yards through the run on landing. Great from April-November but not so good on the sodden winter fairways where there was no run. I would change to a higher flying Call Big Bertha 460 (neutral) 11 degree which flew much higher. If I measured my distances via SC there was acutally only a few yards either way so I never lost or gained but one was better for wet conditions. The R7 seems to give me a more penertrating flight and a bit of roll so I guess I have the best of both now

I have bitten the bullet, and ordered a fitting session for a 909. I know I said I wouldn't, but I demo'd (over 18 holes) a 909 d2 with voodoo stiff in FL, and it rocks. I now know I need this driver. Was it longer? no. Was it straighter? no. Did it feel fantastically solid? yes. They may or may not come up with a different spec, but in the spec I tested, it just felt like home, in a way my 907D1 never has.
