Is it just me or have TM managed to make a worse ball than the one it replaced?

For me the TP Red LDP is a far superior ball in all aspects, driver, irons, pitching, putting. I just don't like the Penta, it feels harder, not for me.

:D :D

Nope it not just you, I quite liked the TP Red but with the penta it spins way too much for me off the tee and hardly goes anywhere :(

craw i actually quite liked the feel of the penta off the irons, very responsive hitting the greens.
personal pref again

Liked both the TP black (still got 3 dozen) and the TP red but the Penta isn't for me. It feels dead off the putter in particular and was at least 10 yards shorter than my usual ball (Pro V or Z star). Now winter is behind us I think I'll start getting the TP black out again

How's the injury ? Or are you back playing yet ?

Midnight...

No, I have the hospital on Thursday but I have been naughty hitting some balls with an improvised 9 fingered grip with a 3/4 ish type of swing.

I've also been on the putting green and taken to using "the claw" grip as its easier to hold the putter that way with the finger in a splint!

Thanks for asking though.

I agree, the red and the black wereboth better than the Penta imo.
Got some of the red left, the black i liked to use if it was very windy. Can't get them for love nor money.

Found a few penta's and stuck them in the old shag bag, would'nt use them in a comp

I'll let you know once I get down to using the dozen that TM gave us on the R11 day.

Not going to rush to use them after reading this thread though!

A lad I play snooker with uses them (for golf obviously) and he really likes them. He plays off 4 so he rarely looses them and at £40 odd a dozen I'd swim in the lake to retrieve mine if I put it in there! ;)

I use them and find them to be good balls. I think the reason a lot of people don't like them is because the core is harder to compress/activate than most other high end balls on the market. My clubhead speed is higher than average so I probably get more out of the ball than someone with a slower clubhead speed would.
