Looking at going along to the Titleist fitting centre up the road from me at St Ives for a complete fitting using Trackman etc, and but have a few questions about the process
Correct me if I am wrong, but they charge a fitting fee of £50 I think which is then knocked off the cost if you decide to buy and you have to book an appointment through a local stockist/PGA pro.

Can you book these through Direct Golf?

Do you purchase the clubs directly from Titeist or if you book the fitting via somewhere like Direct Golf do Titleist then send your stats to them and you can buy them from there or can you buy them online with your Titleist stats.
I am looking at the most cost effective way of doing it andt open minded about which model is best suited for me

Bookings should be made via the PGA professional at your club or your local approved Titleist stockist.

I believe you will be given your fitting stats for you to make an order from the above. Do not think Titleist take orders from the public although I may be wrong.

You will get cheaper prices from a local pro\shop rather than Titleist direct I think.

So how do you get your money back for the fitting? Or is that actualy a fee?

I didn't think the fee was refunded on purchases.
I am booked into their fitting centre in ROI in 6 weeks and it was £45 for 1 session(Driver, Fairway & Rescue) or as I'm looking a full fitting it's £70 for 2 sessions (Driver, Fairway & Rescue plus Irons and Wedges)

That's what the price my pro is being charged as he gave me his account number and told me to phone and book myself so as to get the best date/time for me to fit around work.

I'm going tomorrow, I'll give you the lowdown at the weekend

Think I'd rather play with Reg and Mace on Saturday - you'll be unbearable after spending the day there I hope you have a great time. I know you've been like a kid in a sweet sotre since the missus released the padlock on the finances and you've been itching to know if you can hit the blades. Have fun and look forward to reading about it tomorrow and in greater detail on Saturday.

The fee is for Titleist, so its up to the retailer/pro to see if they want to knock that off the price if you subsequently order, but Titleist wont be refunding it. If you check when you book the times available, if you gon in a morning slot they can do an express service where you get fitted, then speak to your pro/retailer and agree a price (and pay them directly), they confirm the order to Titleist who then make the clubs up for you. They will then tske you on a tour round the factory and you collect the clubs in the afternoon.

have fun !

That's why I didn't go directly to Titleist for my driver fitting. I think its disgusting that a multi million pound company charges you to be fitted for their product. I can understand the fee to stop time wasters but think they should refund to loyal customers who submit an order.

What next? Arnold Clark to charge for test drives???

You cant order direct from Titlesit only through a Pro/approved retailer. Once you have been they will send the stats back to whoever you book through

Looks a bit like this.....

They invoice the Pro/retailer for the fitting. Obvoiulsy if you agree a price first that includes that then so be it, but Titleist will charge. To be honest I would recommend going if you have decided you want the brand, its a nice set up, the fitters are knowledgeable and friendly and they have tons of shafts. I would go again if I needed to but just replaced all y clubs so hope to keep them in the bag for a few years!!!

This info for me is why it's worth the money, you wont get anyone at your local range telling you how much grip tape your grips need. It's so worth the fee even if jus getting irons, woods or wedges or the lot done.

My thoughts exactly. Plus they can tell you what bounce for wedges and what exact 14 club selection you should have be it an extra wedge or rescue etc.

I booked my fitting through AG when buying my AP1s - but I don't recall paying a fee. I just went to AG, paid a deposit for the clubs and they booked my fitting. After the fitting, a set of clubs to the appropriate spec was sent to AG - which I collected & paid for. Got a damn good deal too as AG forgot to add on the cost of the non-standard items - I should have paid extra for the shafts & the grips.
