Titleist Balls

Still not got mine - must be doing it alphabetically.

Yes, the ProV1 is different to the ProV1x - same as the differences in Z-Star(x), Cally i(S or Z), TP Black/Red.
But I'm willing to bet most of us couldn't tell the difference in a blind test.
We don't hit the ball consistently enough to be able to feel any difference and for most of us the difference in spin will be negligable.
Some of the low single figure guys might - but the majority?
No real difference.

I agree that in a blind test I guess for the likes of me it would be hard to tell the difference but I still think even for an average golfer like me there are clear leaders in terms of greenside spin, distance and reliability and I think lie everything in this game it comes down to personal preference. Do you want something that is all singing but only lasts a few holes or will you compromise a few degrees of spin or a few yards for durability.

I still treat a ball as a ball. white and round and I will use it.
I have TM black, pro v's and some sort of nikes in the bag. On the first tee i just pull one out.

Whether I dont put a lot of spin on the ball I wouldnt like to presume , lets just say i probably strike the ball a lot cleaner than you do ;) (no idea what your h/c is btw) I've used z-stars in comparison to see how they scuff up and they scuff exactly the same as the Titleist imo
Strange, you're the first person I've heard say this, certainly nothing like my experience, but maybe you're not as hard on balls as most players?

I play so many comps that getting a new one out for every round would be too costly for my meagre wage,
Well play TP Red then, they are cheaper and easily as good. Seems brand name snobbery is blinding you to the fact that everyone has caught up with Titleist.

There's certainly no way I'd be playing a Titlesit for more than a round in a serious game.

however I'm happy to use my one or two round old balls against your new ones if you like ? Wanna give me a stroke a hole to make up for the loss of quality ? :D

Sorry not into dick waving contests. Also sorry my opinion and experience of various balls that contrasts with your experience upsets you so much.

Interesting replies Mr Jars. A bit self-indulgent on your part too , seems that you think your opinion is the only one that counts on this issue.

ps 2 winks and a smilie means i'm having a laugh and trying to lighten the response not trying to wiily wave. Get over yourself :D

Has anyone in Scotland got their balls yet? Still no sign of mine.

Mine turned up Saturday....went straight out and threw the lot into the water; it saved all the effort of faffing around and hitting the things with a club for the same result.
:D

Bought a sleeve of Pro V1's today and went for a round. Well after the first round I must admit I am impressed with the quality of the ball. It goes really well off the tee with good distance and the amount of spin I could create was excellent. Around the greens the ball feels great off the clubhead and was good to control.

So far I'm happy with them and highly recommend the Pro V1's if anyone hasn't had a play with them.
