Got my free golf balls this morning from the Titleist testing thing we did online. Two x pro v1 and two x pro v1 x
Having not played Titleist for a while, it was interesting to see the difference in the current ProV lineup compared with the version of a few years ago. I tried them at Castle Stuart recently.
I found that the ProV1 had a physics defying propensity to take off at a 45° angle and head towards the beach. Now this may have been due to the fact that the ball was in need of fresh air and a little water as it had been locked up in a box for a long time. However, this destructive action did not go down too well with me. I thought it may have been my own swing flaw resurfacing, but obviously it was the ball.
Having allowed the ProV1s' the chance to swim to the black isle, I tried out the ProV1Xs'. They also liked to try and get to the waters edge. When heading along the 5th hole, the ball dived quickly off the tee to the left. Again, the thought that I may have inadvertantly snap hooked the ball did cross my mind. Having located the ball in question, it was obvious that this too had a great desire to visit the sea shore. It tried again a couple of holes later !
So there you have it, ProV1s' like to go off to the right and ProV1Xs like to go off to the left.
Must be a serious design flaw in these balls, their older counterparts didn't behave like that![]()
Cheers Homer, I did notice the post van as I was leaving for work this morning - guess it will be a trip to the post office at the weekend.Came in a small jiffy envelope but postie had to knock as they don't fit through letterbox
Sure it wasn't a puddle. To get in the middle of a lake would take a bigger hit than you give it.
One of those rare flushed ones then.
