Titleist bag quality!

The fact that it's over 12 months old doesn't end Titleist's obligations - the bag has to be of serviceable quality - so definitely worth contacting them. In any case, they are a good company and will almost certainly resolve the problem to your satisfaction.

Thanks mate, as per Odvans post I emailed Titleist earlier so I'll see what they have to say. Only problem is it's not just as simple as sending out new parts, the handle strap/hook thing looks like it was stitched with the plastic buckles already in place if that makes sense, unless they have some which can be retro fitted.

Just a quick update.
I emailed Titleist who replied pretty quickly, they offered to either send me new parts (strap and buckles) or have the bag inspected at AG.
The replacement parts should do the job so I plumped for that. Very good customer service IMO

So, another update.
Titleist sent me out a new strap but it was the wrong one...doh!
I thought I'd see if it would fit while they got the correct one sorted out so I removed the old one, I noticed lots of stitching under the main carry handle (where the straps attach) has come away which I'd not seen before as the strap covers this area when it hangs down. I showed my PP and he was shocked at how bad it was, specially how Titleist are supposed to make quality gear.
I've got no option but to take it back to AG this afternoon, hopefully they will see it as a manufacturing fault and replace or refund.
Kind of stuffed if they start playing @rsey even though I should be well within my rights under consumer rights law.

This may be a myth but I've heard that most manufacturers bags are made in the same factories and there's very little difference between them in terms of quality of the manufacturing process and materials used. I use to have a cobra bag and it was awfully similar to my mates Titliest one.

Used to be Sun Mountain that made all bags for companies that fell under the Acushnet Group Banner. That was a long, long time ago now so likely to have changed and looks have after a quick rummage on the net. Ignore my ramblings....

Hmm, took the bag back and the two sales assistants were both giving me the 12 month guarantee lines, they eventually went to speak to the manager after I started going on about consumer rights blah blah.
The manager was apparently in a fitting and unavailable but advised them to take the bag from me and send it back to Titleist to be inspected. Not sure if I've been fed a lot of hot air here as Titleist were telling me to take it to AG for them to inspect it, sounds like no one want to take responsibility for it. I'll be kicking up a fuss with Trading Standards if nothing gets sorted, I don't expect to be buying a new bag every year!

Kit normally has to go back to Titleist/FJ through a retailer rather than sending it yourself and in my experience, they are pretty good at refunding/replacing stuff that has failed as you describe so you should get a good outcome.

As far as Titleist bags are concerned I've always found them OK. I did have a Nike one (actually, I had two that came unstitched in the same place) that had similar issues to the one you describe.

Thanks for the reply mate, I was under the impression my warranty was with the shop but I've heard a few other people say the manufacturer has sorted out the problem. Fingers crossed.
For the record Titleist have been very good in replying to emails and offering replacement parts.

Result.
Phoned AG earlier for an update, luckily it was the store manager who answered who said he'd call Titleist for an update and ring me back. True to his word he called back 5 minutes later saying I had a credit note ready at the store so I can choose another bag :whoo:

Titleist really have been top notch in all of this, not only did they send me 2 replacement straps, they also sent me a load of zip toggles and a ball marker. I really should send it all back as I don't need it now.

That's good CS from them. HID needs a new zip toggle as he's lost one. Being cheeky :o but if I send you an SAE would you pop one in the post to me.

I had the Titleist staff stand bad for 1 month before knew of the pockets burst!! Only play 3 rounds with it when I was putting my clubs back in to my cart bag that I noticed the tear.
