I have spoken to someone at one of Acushnet's national custom fitting centres (Kings Acre)there is only 2 in the UK one at Kings Acre Golf club near Edinburgh and the second down in Cambridgeshire at Brampton park Golf club.

These 2 venues are full of state of the art equipment including a launch monitor and surfeit system that allows technicians to provide up to 420 different shaft and head combinations to find which combination suits you.

This is the same technology they use with top tour players like Rory McIlroy,Adam Scott Ricky Fowler and Matteo Manassero etc. So if you want to feel like a tour pro for a couple of hours head over to your closest centre.

The technicians will be ready to fit out the new 910 driver from the 18th October 2010.

This is really starting to sound like a blatant Titleist love in/hate fest depending on which post of golfchats you read. Have you anything else to say on here or are you just going to write about titleist. I presume you have a connection to them in some degree.

Give the guy a break.

We tell newcomers to 'get stuck in' and he is. He's writing about things he knows about. He knows someone who works/worked for Titleist maybe.

He's also taken the time to create a signature, and there's no dodgy links anywhere.

And as for posting about the same thing more than once???

Homer you've got a hard neck you bang on constantly Demo day this ,AG that Ascot this blah blah blah wind your neck in mate the guys come on and gave a bit of an inside to Titliest, keep them coming mate its always good to hear whats going on.

PS welcome to the forum

I've no qualms about hearing about Titleist but on the one hand he's praising them and on the other he's moaning about RRP's. It just seemed a little strange. He's as much right as anyone to talk about anything or any manufacturer. I just happened to disagree with a couple of the points.

Welcome along golfchat1 btw and sorry if my comments have come over as harsh - no offence meant. Everyone happy now??? :D :D ;) :p :p

No probs I like Titleist equipment doesn't mean I agree in getting ripped off for balls.

Agreed but apart from shopping online for the best deals or bulk buying there's not a lot that will happen to change the cartel all maufacturers seem to have on the top end balls. If it helps this site is pretty cheap. Can't you ask your pro mates to get some in at cost for you?

Not just Titleist though is it, it's just that they're the ones you have the info on.
All the other manufacturers will have similar mark ups for their premium balls.

As well as all the sponsorship and freebies they (have to?) give away there's also the overheads of the R&D dept which I would imagine is massive in itself.

I get about 20% off most hardware or clothing from my own Pro who was my boss for 4 years.

£60 for 2 dozen is the price for balls nothing less
