It was a while ago and it’s moved out of my twenty.

That wasn't a Penalty Score; your score was simply entered incorrectly as 18xNRs (18 zeros) and no-one checked and corrected it.

As I say a decent enough system but relies on volunteers

Agree. However, there seems to be a developing trend of reliance on "computer systems". I said earlier, an issue with them is GIGO - Garbage In, Gospel Out. Who checks the programmer's work?

Of course if members helped by doing the right things it would make the whole process a lot easier to manage

Yep that’s what happened.

Did you simply return the card with a NR on every hole or did you record the score for holes played and the rest as not started /not attempted or record those holes as NR?

I was hurt so went straight home.

No card went in ,but I did tell the guy in charge and got 36 over.
