I thought that Tiger used a Scotty

But it seems that yesterday he was using a Ping.

If so two questions spring to mind

1) Which model ?

2) If a Ping is good enough for Tiger, why are they so untrendy nowadays ?

i think its just a Ping grip on his Scotty could be wrong though

I was wondering about that. Just been reading that he used to use an Anser 2, tho'. Has he bought that back coz the Master's greens are so fast ?

Can't imagine Ping would be happy to let him use their grip on another putter either

I can't comment on that, though I was interested to see what all the pros are using at the masters though. There seemed to be everything from Ansers to Ping Crazies, and Itsy's.

I wonder if our man in Augusta has a 'what's in the bag' list for the players. it would be interesting to see what they're all using as flat sticks.

andiritchie is right - Tiger uses a very old style black PING grip on his putter which is a Scotty Cameron - I believe its a Newport style model but SC makes it specially for him

I am sure this very same discusion popped up at this time last year.

Does he colour the white ping letters in with a marker? Or am I imagining it?

"Can't imagine Ping would be happy to let him use their grip on another putter either"

You gotta be joking ?! I would think that Ping are ecstatic that their name is associated in even a miniscule way with the Tiger Woods media machine.
Even a blacked out name on a putter grip is worth millions to them in Marketing globally !!

ChrisMc I think you are right. There is nothing stopping Tiger from using Ping like any other customer. Unless he was contracted to Titleist, they could say something, but not Ping.

My guess would be that he gets the grips direct from the factory before they have had the white paint filled in.

The reason we can still buy Ping Penguin grips is because of Tiger and people wanting to use the same equipment as him

Can anyone remember when that grip came out 80's perhaps
