Tiger's chip last night

Just seen it myself... Gave up on the coverage last night as I could only see Sabbatini winning it :o...

It was a perfectly executed shot, no doubt, actually going in was just the cream on the cake...

Always a bit of 'luck' involved, I feel, when these shots drop... But still sensational none the less...

I really enjoyed Tigers win last night. The chip in was awesome, the clubhead speed, lightness of the landing. To hole it required a bit of luck but it still had to be hit perfectly. I also liked the fact he used irons off most tee's. Control over distance.

Mind you Luke's holed bunker shot wasn't too shabby either ;)

Brilliantly executed shot with the ball falling in the hole on its last few rolls. It didn't need the hole to stop it as sometimes is necessary so I'd put it up there as one of his best in the circumstances.

Felt for Ricky Fowler who's game just didn't turn up on Sunday but it's great to see Tiger coming back to some kind of form.

Tiger said it was way harder then the 2005. The way it was sat and how far he had to open the face, pure skill and exicution.

The Masters chip wins for me. Last nights was a great shot from a dodgy lie, but it was aimes at the pin. At the Masters it had to chip, run then check at the very right moment to catch the slope in the green down to the hole.

But then again, it didnt really happen. It was Nike marketing Dept who hacked into the tv network and overlayed the film with what has become an iconic moment. Tiger actually fluffed it 2 feet....simples

The Masters one will be more iconic because of the tournament and just the way the ball rolled for so long towards the hole... then stopped... then fell. But last night's looked harder.

Id say last nights was harder , miss the 2005 one & its an uphill putt ,also it was being played by a very different tiger . being played by tiger at is best ..

last night was Tiger with the "can he still make these shots" pressure hanging over him & the water has to come into the equtaion when going with a full swing like that

2005 confirmed domination , last night may have reignited it

I wonder if we would be talking so much about the shot if anyone else had played it...?

Taking nothing away from Tiger, it was a superb shot but there are plenty of seasoned Professionals who could have played it..

It was a great shot by a great player and while others could have played it as a one off, you'd put money on Tiger doing something like that again. Tiger is to golf what Messi is to football.

If they had played it needing 3 birdies in the last 4 holes to win The Memorial then they should get the recognition they deserve.... as it was Sabbatini bogied that hole and scraped a par at the last to finish joint second.

For sure Ian, Luke's two sand saves on Saturday and Sunday was pure brilliance too and Luke is someone doing that stuff all the time. The context of it being Sunday Tiger and needing it and a come back and all that make it a talking point though.

I dont mind tiger and appreciate what he has done for the game, but the way the USA commentators are so up he's arse puts me right off him.

I'd like to see him come back for himself, but just wish the dam yanks would give the euro players the credit when deserved:sbox:

that shot scares the life out of me - i know where my chip would have ended up

did you hear the whumfffff the club made as he swung thro the ball? scary scary!

I'm not taking anything away from Tiger at all - fabulous shot.

All I'm saying is that if you look at any/every Tournament you get one or more shots like that. Yes it was placed/played perfectly but there's still a huge amount of luck involved in it going in.

Just turn the tables - if Sabbatini had been chasing Tiger down and he'd played that shot, in that context and gone on to win - we wouldn't be talking about it now......That's the point I'm making.

Because Tiger did it - it's news. Anyone else - it isn't.
