Tiger Woes ??

When was the last time Real won the Champions league?? That's probably equivalent to a Major. Sure they've won Primera titles & Copa Del Rey,but that probably equates to the tournaments Tiger as won in the last few years.
So not that much different really. Big names draw the crowds :thup:

Nah,Real r far from pony. With players like Ronaldo,Bale,Benzimar...... Obviously people want to watch them.this is why they get more coverage than Athletico,Seville,Osasuna........
 
Look back over any of the numerous threads on this forum regarding coverage of the USPGA tour, the number one moan is.......
He's old news, he hasn't got another major in him. He detracts from coverage that should go to the more deserving and more entertaining. He is a perfect example of what happens when a player is allowed to become more important than the game itself (and that's not his fault). He cheated at the players and was allowed to get away with it because of the tours desperation to retain the sponsors dollar.

I can see your point. But he is currently the #1 golfer & I think the highest earning sports star on the planet.
I do agree that the players in contention should get the bulk of the coverage but what can you do.

You do realize that eventually he will be a CBS pundit, he'll be worse than listening to chess on the radio
 
Just a few reasons why I don't think Woods will ever win another major

1. His knee and various injuries means that over long tougher courses his body starts to suffer

2. The players around him have got better and he is now surrounded by players equally talented and some more talented

3. Length of the tee - before Tiger used to over power course with his length of drives etc - now players hit a lot longer and straighter so courses have been tailored to combat this. Tigers driving isn't as accurate on the tighter courses

Tiger will continue to win tournaments - he is still a quality player and some courses out there he knows he can destroy

But majors are different now - when he won his 14 he was head and shoulders above the rest and the challenge wasn't as strong

Now when the major starts he is only favourite by name not ability because he is no longer head and shoulders above everyone - in fact no one is currently
