Tiger - press conference

Found it very very interesting that last night when Top Seed Stricker went to extra holes they didn't bother showing him and cut the coverage off......why? Because he isn't as worth watching as Tiger would be....not a hope in hell they would have cut Tiger off.

Why should he have to apologise in public, I don't get it.

The only people he should be apologising to are his family, and perhaps his sponsors as he represents them.

He certainly doesn't have to apologise to me. He like many men and women has cheated on his partner, he has been found out, many haven't.

I watched the golf last night and heard there will be a statement about Tiger, not BY Tiger.
Suggests to me it wont be Tiger making the statement. :D

That's how I read it too Bob.

Would any other player get a statement made by the PGA and right in the middle of a big tournament??

As long as the PGA pander to him, he will always call the shots and stoke his ego......

We all know it's all about the money. Nothing to do with if he's actually sorry or not.

If making a public apology keeps the Tiger gravy train rolling, then that's what they will do.

Timing though is real dumb. Middle of a Tournament. The only reason I can think they would do it is to be deliberately contentious. And thus get even more publicity.

Just shows how much he cares for his fellow professionals.

Think he'll be teaming up with Cashley Cole and Frank McAvennie, " Whare's the Burds" :o. or looking for Cheryls phone number.
But if you see a glazed look on his face and Elin snapping her fingers and he begs like a dog you know he's been brain washed in the sex addict clinc. :D :D :D

Yes Tiger needs the money I can't beleive anything Tiger has done for the last 10 yrs has been done for the money. IMO he wants Jacks record and that is that.

I actually go along with Birdieman in relation to the timing of it.

It stinks of "dump me, I'll show you I'm bigger than your tournament".

I hate the way the Americans do the public "sorry I was wrong", does anyone actually beleive that it is anything other than a PR thing, or is that my cynical ritish attitude.

Also is coming out and saying that you have a sex addiction just another way of trying to say its not really my fault.

Word on the street is that many fellow players are annoyed about the timing of this press conference in the middle of the WGC Accenture event. All of a sudden the media don't give a hoot about the WGC. McIlroy reckons Tiger's timed it to annoy Accenture who dropped him after his recent misdemeanors. If that's true it doesn't look like Tom Watsons request for some humility from Tiger has been heeded. :D
Suppose we'll have to wait and see.

Fully agree with you Birdieman, awful timing. Surprised the PGA are allowing it personally.
Also a guy read out at work that Erin is not to happy with him and still dosen't wear her wedding ring. I dont think he will be back for the Masters but he will be back before the British Open.

Quite right, Freddie. The sex clinic is just a way to avoid admitting responsiblity. He wanted to have his cake and eat it - and he got found out. Simple.

My money's on Bay Hill for his return.

According to stuff I have read in the American news rags, he didn't pay much attention in the old clinic, and spent most of his time extacting the michael out of the other 'sufferers'. He just went there as that was what was expected of him.

What he needs is a quickie divorce, and get back on the golf course asap.

Why apologise to anyone on the telly? Who cares?

His sponsors will soon return, once he starts winning again.

Has Tiger got the wit to 'take the michael' out of anyone? I bet it was a laugh an hour.

The way forward for Tiger is via a quickie divorce, this takes away the 'poor wife' guilt trip - she now being £millons in pocket from this action but less than she would have got had he retained his sponserships as his future income will be deemed, by the court, to be so much lower than it was - poor woman.

He can then play around with any female he chooses to, as long as it is not his playing partner's wife, (we don't like that, do we Mr Terry)and he can then ease himself back into golf sponserships.

I predict that, given the correct management handling, he will be even more marketable, if that is possible and we will have the Tiger Babes standing on every vantage point where ever he plays.

He does however require to be a'nicer' guy as his persona leaves a lot to be desired - spitting and swearing on the course - bad example for youngsters entering the sport and not so good if you are funding a £1,000,000 advert with him as your central character.

Back golfing shortly, in top ten but not winning, next year he will bounce back and be seen as a loveable 'bounder'.

Playing golf for a living, money no concern, babes falling over themselves for his attention, I guess the future must be difficult for him!

freddie, I wasn't really referring to Tiger as such. But his manager, sponsors and the PGA it's a money thing. And they will be the people advising him what to do, what to say and when to say it.

For Tiger, he has all the money he needs. For him it should just be about the golf. But he will have commercial commitments he needs to maintain.
