Tiger is perfectly entitled (as is Lindsay Vonn) to do what they like with whatever consenting adult they like. He is not the first golfer and won't be the last. Seve was quite the casanova in his day.

But the issue that caused at least part of the reaction to his previous escapades wasn't his familiarity with very many Hooters waitresses and lapdancers, but this whole image of a family man with great values which had been contrived by his management, and sold in many ads with portentous voiceovers of his father giving him sage advice from beyond the grave. It was a reaction against hypocrisy and sanctimony rather than infidelity.

And it turned out that Tigers fondness for a fit young blonde thing had been known to insiders for some time, including Elin even before the wedding. I had heard stories before the scandal broke (from a guy in the golf business in Orlando) about Elin discovering Tiger's "other" cellphone, with his girlfriends numbers, before their wedding. It also turned out that it was hereditary, with old Dad being a fan of the blonde and having enjoyed many relationships, including commercial ones, with them.

Perhaps if he put as much energy into his golf, he would still be World No 1 and would have won a few more majors!
