Just thought i'd say that I won last years competition on martin's blog and received a dozen pro V1's through the post on Wednesday.

Now I know his blog isn't everyone's cup of tea but I'm just saying that The competitions are well worth entering and the blog is very interesting.

So Thanks Martin for the pro V1's.

Will be updating tomorrow. I know it isn't everyones cup of tea and you are perfectly entitled to that opinion. On the other hand, if you are a casual reader, then please become a follower. I reached my 50 follower target and so will be making a donation to Help 4 Heroes on payday. If I can get another 50 followers then I'll make another £50 dontation so get involved and think of it as a way of helping a great cause.

The competition to guess my 2011 stroke average was originally for forum members only but as the forum is THE place to be I'm giving anyone on here who wants to have a go the chance to have a go.

Joe (Feary) has got his dozen Pro V for guessing how many balls I'd lose last year. Apart from the the chance to win a Vokey wedge to your loft and bounce requirements, there will be a chance to win a decent lightweight Summer jumper in my competition in conjunction with the Open and a chance to win some balls later in the year.

I've just joined, only 48 more until another donation, what can I expect ?

Hopefully an entertaining view on the world of golf from an oridinary hackers point of view. The chance to win a few prizes, watch me snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and hopefully a eureaka moment when I make single figures.

Others will have distinctly opposite views but hey!

Homer,
Reading your blog I'm picking up a lot of negativity and a lack of confidence, something we all go through at times, so I have a simple suggestion for you that I'm sure will help in your quest for single figures.

All you have to do is rename your blog:
"Another drive booms into the distance, straight down the middle"

Sorry it doesn't rhyme but, hey, you can't have everything.

I'm looking forward to it, our handicaps are around the same, so I may pick up some tips. However I reckon after looking at the blog, you may analyse things more than me. I'm more 'Head down bang'

I was going to call it The Naked Golfer but the picture to go with the title would have put people off. I disagree about the negativity. I'm enjoying my golf more than ever and 2010 was a turning point and was all about hitting it finding it and hitting it again. I tried not to get too down with the bad rounds and enjoyed the good ones.

Anyone that knows me on here or have played with me knows that confidence is definitely one thing not in short supply. However, the blog was intended to be an honest acccount of my (ongoing) quest for single figures. Some of the "negativity" was probably masquerading as humour, certainly in the time it took from my brain, vian my fingers into the wide world of the interweb.

This year I'll be doing a "Hackers Guide to Royal Ascot" (where I play) showing you how to play each hole and highlighting some of the strange things that have occured on each one (and not just to me) which I hope will be fun.

Will you flippin' stop defending it all the time, nothing can possibly be perfect for everyone. Your blog is fine, in fact it's a perfect example of a blog, that's what they are supposed to be! Just write what YOU want to, write about the things you want to remember, moments that made you laugh, moments that made you want to kill someone and then when you're 80 (around Leftie's age) you can sit back and remember your yoooof :p

You should also get more pics on there to liven it up... then we can see how that tummy is developing :D

Regards......
