Thought's on this

What would you guy's expect to happen in this situation???

Our range has signs up warning patrons to check that their clubs can't hit any of the posts before swinging with effort.

Even without signs, I'd still expect that you'll get nowhere in terms of repair/replacement for your damaged club.

For me if i was buying something or paying to use something i'd expect it
to be ready to use and not be expected to move myself before i use it.
If it was where it should have been there wouldn't have been a problem.
it's nothing to do with the way i swing the club"

But what is ready for you might be ready for the next person! People are all different heights, have different swing planes etc. Every driving range ive ever been to has had movable mats and you should always check it first. I'm sure your just angry at yourself but the post above makes you sound ridiculous.

However If you do get a free club for your error, can you tell what range it is so I can go there, bash my club head on the pole and and get me a new 3 wood too?

The range near me has signs up warning against this, and saying how they dont accept liability for damaged clubs etc etc. If you get them to do this, then at least it would be a moral victory.

Bit harsh mashley ... he only asked our thoughts on it , & the fact the guy at the range did feck all even when he told him seems to be as annoying.. if any of us complained to someone (in any service) & they just ignored us we would all be peeved off ..

As regarding the guy fixing it , people are probably moving them the whole time so he didnt bother , but he could have explained this to richie .. customer service ? a dying art ..

Maybe it was, sorry. But it is unfeasible for the range management or staff to check every bay after each individual user has been in it. Even if they put it in the dead centre of the bay this still may not be suitable for some people. So unless the bay is 12 foot wide if the mat is movable, move it to suit you and the next person who uses the bay moves it to suit themselves. If we all stick to this rule they'll be no problems. Expecting the range to do something about it just sums up the ridiculous "no win no fee" legal system we have in the UK atm. In fact I would not be surprised if the range management did sort hm out a new club, just to keep him happy/quiet/take no further action, then slapped up some signs warning other people.

mashleyr7 you think im being ridiculous mmmm just read over what what you've jusr typed, that's all i want to say to you.

As for the rest of the replys thank's guy's i guess not the response i'd thought i get but
there you go. I did ask for your thought's on this not the answer to it if nothing else
it got us talking about something other than how bad our swing's are and all the other stuff
wee loose it about in golf . Anyway cheer's i think ive got all i need from this post
and if anything noone reading this will do as i done. Atleast it'll save anonther golf club lol

This brings back memmories,a couple of years ago,I bought a brand new Ping g10 3 wood, could'nt wait to try it out at the DR,when I got up there it was fairly quiet so I had 5-6 bays to use,I decided to use the very last bay took out my shiny ping had a couple of practice swings, the proceded to wrap it around the stanshion, nobodys fault but my own, another ebay member satisfied LOL.

dont think you would have any chance of the manager doing anythig about it, would probably just say its your own fault, also nearly did this myself only few weeks ago, it was only that is was a new driver that i was so consious of how close the pillar was.
