Thought's on this

Ok guys I've said all I'm going on this matter I won't be reading this thread anymore
I've asked you what your thought's were and got them
I've giving you the answer to what happened and I think you'd be happier if I said I had to replace it myself
So I'm do with this thread thanks for the input

Don't forget to tell all your mates, then they can all get new drivers.
The guy will be out of business in 6 months and you will have no range to go to. Good luck

What is the name of the range ?

I would of charged you for damaging the partition in between bays :). If you hit a ball next to a tree on the course would you check your swing room first or just wrap it around the tree trunk?

I thought I say I got a replacement to see what happened nothing surprised me with the replys
I didn't get a replacement and I'm sure the guys won't be out of business in 6 month

strange behaviour right here. you posted asking for opinions. when the answers you recieved was not what you wanted to hear you started getting snotty, hot under the collar then just plain old insulting.

Oh dear Richie. I do feel for you but you've been taught a valuable lesson. Need to start taking responsibility for your actions and stop expecting others to wipe your arse for you. Bet you won't do that again in a hurry!

To be fair I very rarely go to the range these days just when i need a new club ha ha and as for playing myself not for me I've got a great crowd of
guys I play golf with right I'm done with this thread now but thanks for all the input and whatever

We seem to be missing the point here that most ranges are very badly designed.
They try to cram as many bays in as possible and there are generally many other saftey flaws.

I even visited one where they asked slicers to go to the left hand bays and hookers [I kid you not] go to the right hand bays.

I used to manage a 40 bay state of the art range in the 1990's, there was loads of room in the bays. Despite warning signs customers still moved mats for rain/sun reasons.
It is one hundred times more dangerous to move a mat backwards as you may hit golfers walking past.
We had the occasional incident of 'gong ringing'. I said tough luck should have checked your space and usually gave some free baskets as compensation.

our bays are massive and i still rang that gong! its either support poles or the roof gets blown off! we can put in expensive roofs but then it would be alot more expensive for the balls.

i think ritchie understands now that it was his fault. id be seething too if i did that to my new RBZ, who wouldnt? we will all be looking over our shoulders the next time we tee up at the range.

lesson learnt by everyone, class dismissed! :)

Does your range have a gap between the top of the roof and a slatted back wall?
It is vital to let the wind blow through these structures.
The original part of my old range was built in the late 1980's and is still undamaged with no major repairs

what does slatted mean? ill have a duke next time im in. must have some gaps or the roof would get blown off as we are on top of a hill!

gary

Imagine a freestanding roof with a 35cm buffer board on the front [high edge].
The back wall stops about 35cm short of the roof creating a gap the length of the bays.[obviously with upright support beams.]
The back and side walls are built of 20cm diagonal wooden slats each about 2cm apart.
My old range was facing West into the prevailing wind, not great for the sun though!
Although it was not on the top of a hill there was no protection in front.

I'm on hols for a couple of weeks but if you want a chat drop me a PM.
