.....balls. :(

Just popped in for a quick break to find on the doormat a card from Royal Mail, saying item to be collected at local depot.

So as it's my birthday today got all excited thinking....... a great big parcel  or even the Callaway balls that wouldn't go through the letterbox :)

Off I went in eager anticipation to said depot. The guy presented me with a letter saying, "That will be £1.30 sir". The sender had forgotten to stamp it :(

Got home, opened it up, it was a Christmas card from my eldest brother - what a knob, wait till I speak to him next :(

Anyway, going out tonight with the wife and friends for a nice meal and a few glasses of the red stuff.

Tomorrow, I've booked 2 tee times, a full English breakfast for 8 of us. Will have nearest the pins and longest drive, (which my son will probably win), he's as skinny as a rake and hits the ball a country mile, but it's got to be on the fairway son!

Looks like it'll be dry and sunny
Happy days :D :D

Happy Birthday

£1.30 where did he post it from the moon

I think that's probably 30p for postage and the other £1 for admin!!!

They know how to make their money nowadays do our friendly postal service!

Happy Birthday Chris... I got my Callaways (no Birthday required) :)

Have a good round tomorrow, I won't pencil you in for the longest drive... but hopefully the straightest :D

Golfmmad, firstly happy birthday, have agreat day. I too have a card from Royal Mail saying no one was in when they called and to go and visit them, hopefully mines will be "balls" :) :)

Many thanks guys for the good wishes yesterday :)

Had a really nice evening, company great, food delicious, restaurant service first class. The table we had was ours for the evening, as restaurant has set covers, so no pressure to finish to get somebody else in. Arrived at just after 8pm and didn't leave 'til 11.30.

Now for the golf!

I won the front 9 nearest the pin, got nowhere on the longest drive, not even the straightest James. My son was longest, but not on the fairway :(
My mate who plays off 12 won the stableford comp with a creditable 39 points - really steady golf. OK then, I got 29 points :( So although my game was not up to much, the weather was great and of course the company excellent.

It looks like these birthday bashes will be a regular occurrence, so will look forward to the next one. :)
