But you're right it is pish, less intuitive to use and no visible improvement to justify the meddling.

I'm pretty sure the benefits are more for the guys moderating and runningit on a daily basis, as I believe they have far more control through boards like this. More tools available to them etc.
I think it looks better like this, and I like how the busier topics remain at the top of the section, rather than getting lost down the page.

I would tend to sway towards the OP, I wouldn't go as far as pish but its not as user friendly, not as easy to navigate and sits terribly on a mobile phone.

I wouldn't be as harsh as that, if i was new to the forum i would take it for what it is, and learn how to use it (which i need to do anyway) but given a choice i'd go back to the old one straight away

As I mostly access the forum via my iPhone I prefer the old set up as it was easier to navigate and see the new posts

On the old one it would tell you in brackets how many posts in a thread you had not read since your last visit.
Can this still be done??
Do not like the new one at all,I really can't see what has improved.(On the old forum I would have added a confused smiley but the new forums confused smiley looks like some sort of deranged dog so I won't!)

I hate how you have to start reading every thread at the begining now, total waste of time. The old set up took you straight to your first unread post, is there a thing in the settings that allows you to do this?
Also the jumping between the lounge and other sections is not as good.

The blue dot to the left of the title if clicked will take you to the first unread post on the thread.
Clicking on it via an iPhone or iPad is easier said than done... I dint see why clicking on thread title can't take you to the first unread one TBH. But I'm sure I'll get used to it

I agree that change is not always for the better! But the site is more user friendly in a lot of areas, also it will take a week or so to get used to the new functions, plus any tweeking by GM, perhaps we should judge it then?
That said, the smileys are shite............

im not sure what age all you guys are, but for the younger generation the old forum was hard to use.
this Vbulletin setup is the basic benchmark webwide for forums.
its like asking me to use MS dos when everywhere else is using windows.
for me this has just become infinitely easier to use as i literally dont have to think about naviagtion etc anymore as its the same as everywhere else.
hats off to GM for providing the new software free of charge.
